Goodpasture will win this game. The boys have already beat these guys once this year

and will have to do it again to get the title back to Madison at Goodpasture but whatever

it takes this team has it. This team has what it takes to win a State Championship. Most

of the people having comments have not been to the games watching the teams play

especially not the game where USJ threw their ace Clayton and we rocked him. They will

not even have him today to pitch so I do not see this being a long winded game as our

others have been.

I pray no one gets hurt on either side.

Goodpasture will win this game.

Go Cougars.

QUOTE(mcfan10 @ May 24 2007 - 11:01 PM) 826466578If Goodpasture has any talent, they will win. I saw USJ twice this week and they looked very beatable.

That has got to be the most stupid comment I have ever read. Of curse Goodpasture has talent or they wouldn't be in the title game. Of curse USJ is beatable, hence the six losses but I think Goodpasture has 5 losses don't they? You have two great teams in the title game and there can only be one winner so I would say that both teams are beatable. I don't know how much baseball you have been around...obviously not much with a comment like that but either team can win this game today. They both are that good. Everybody thought USJ would not beat Gibbs twice and you witnessed how resilient they are yesterday. Please don't make comments like that anymore.

Ready to have a little fun. I still think many are underestimating the Bruins. Might be interesting. /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

QUOTE(ElvisUGA24 @ May 25 2007 - 12:10 AM) 826466645GO GOODPASTURE!!!

That goes for me as wel! My only concern is what have they got left (not necessarily in the pitching situation). They have had to play back to back days with 11 inning games. USJ had to play 2 for a fact, but Goodpassture has had to play 22 innings in 2 days in the "Winners Bracket". Games like the one on Wed. with Dyer County are an emotional "Drain" win, lose or draw. I'm sure that the marathon yesterday was no less stressful even thought there were more runs scored. My support goes to Goodpasture. I hope they left the field, ate & went to BED! /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

I am more familiar with West Tennessee Baseball, so I have to say USJ is a good representative, and will show very well.

I only saw GoodP. once this year, and that was against USJ. Despite what some people have eluded too, USJ controlled and dominated the game through the fifth inning, when it was painfully obvious a pitching change needed to be made. The coach was working to a master plan, that in hindsight, was brilliant. He could have made a change and won the game, no doubt. However, he allowed the freshman pitcher to feel the pressure, it's part of maturing as a pitcher. It cost them the game, but what most folks don't know, is the need to use 8 pitchers in the next 10 days. Yes, USJ lost that game , but they prepared a depth of winning pitching that has them in awesome shape for today. It's all about what are your long term goals. Win the battle or the war. USJ is going to win the war.

2nd item. GP has an awesome team, but tone the girls softball chanting down a little. It's too similar to Gibbs. /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
