Don't put them that high just yet there are still three other teams besides DL that went to the play-offs last season. The league will be very even this year and very strong and Giles will be a play-off team. That is a fact!

Marshall County has recommited to football. They are adding on to their indoor facilities. Coach Thomas is working them really hard and they are being coached really hard. Rumor has it that Coach Thomas even when out and got Giles County's defensive coordinator too.

 

Everyone who has played MC the last few years has seen their talent. It looks like their potential should be reached this year! It shouldn't surprise anyone if they end up in Murfreesboro instead of Lipscomb.

Dont put them in Murfeesboro just yet.They do have alot a talent with Hightower,O'neal,and Braden leading the charge

but they still have to prove they can win big ball-games!3-7 wont get you into the playoffs let alone to The Boro.But maybe with a new coach and staff they can finally reach there potential!

They need a defensive coordinator because from what I have seen the last couple of years now their defense has been their downfall.

 

Two years ago Marshall Co. ABSOLUTELY HAD TO SCORE 40+ POINTS to win games against Page, Spring Hill, & Giles Co. It was the offense that got them into the playoffs. The defense that year was used and abused by Lipscomb & Cheatham Co. (not to mention the playoff loss against Lexington) AND they gave up a huge lead the offense had built up against Creek Wood.

 

Last year it was the Creek Wood game that Marshall Co. actually played good defense. They gave up 25 points to a Page team that struggled to score on anyone last year at times and then again they blew a lead in the last game of the year against Giles Co. WITH THE PLAYOFFS ON THE LINE!!!! I don't even have to mention how the defense performed against Cheatham Co. & David Lipscomb.

 

SCARY FACT: If Marshall Co. can hold teams between 2-3 offensive scores per game they will hardly ever lose a game. If they hold teams to less than this then they will likely never lose a game.

 

BTW, putting Morris at QB to take the snaps this fall will be a good decision for Marshall Co. O'Neal is a deadly playmaker at WR and when you combine that with the fact that the offensive backfield will still consist of Braden & Hightower at RB then you have yourselves a scary situation for opposing defenses.
