Bisonpride
Both teams are undefeated going into this week (2-0). I think that's how it was going into last year's meeting. These two teams met twice last year, and both proved to be good games, with the first meeting going to the Bison in a last second touchdown pass, and Sycamore taking the second meeting in the playoffs. They have both played Springfield. Sycamore won at home 24-0. Station Camp won on the road 22-0. So a area for some comparison. The field at Station Camp will be rocking again this Friday at 7:30, hopefully recreating the atmosphere of the HHS game. Any predictions? I myself will pick my Bison, but it will be a close game, possibly coming down to a field goal, since Sycamore is quite the team from what I've heard from posters on here and from some Station Camp players. baggy
Well being that S.C. has the enrollment of a 5a school i guess they should win
Big Country
NO PREDICTIONS FROM ME!!!! This game will be broadcast LIVE on WQSV next Friday night. With a win I like the winner of this one to have already pretty much secured themselves a playoff spot. In all likelihood the winner of this one will be the lone unbeaten remaining in Region 4-3A. White House plays Alcoa next week. Greenbrier & Pearl Cohn both lost their first games of the season tonight to even both of those teams at 1-1 after two weeks of tough non-region battles. Macon Co. is 0-2 early on in the season.
Bisonpride
baggy - not sure about the 5a enrollment, we are close, we have atleast 4a. Around 1000 students or more. I know the Junior and Senior Class is aboout 500. And those are the smaller classes combined. But school pop. doesn't mean that much, we just might have more depth and/or talent. It comes down to who can make the least mistakes on Friday night, and make the most plays. (ie HHS vs. SCHS game)

If "school population doesn't mean that much," why do they even have classifications? Where in the heck do you think all that "depth" and "talent" comes from??? The larger your student body...the more likely you are to have talent/depth. Of course "make the least mistakes" and "make the most plays" is what wins games. But greater depth and talent goes a long way in making that happen. That said, the official TSSAA student population for Station Camp last year was only 906 students which still keeps them in the 3A category, barely. That was the 201st most populated school and 202 is the last 3A school. There are other schools whose 2006 population would put them in 4A if they had grown 20% or more: Giles Co., Montgomery Central, Creek Wood, David Lipscomb, Fayette Ware, Sequoyah, Mitchell, Dyersburg, and Fulton. However, they remain in 3A for two more years.
Bisonpride
What I meant, was people always consider the larger school to be the better team. Such as when we played 5a Hendersonville. People gave them the edge because they are 5a and we are 3a.
FatCat
Okay, Bisonpride, I got ya. They say that for good reason about larger schools as I said above. However, having a greater population doesn't guarantee greater depth and talent, just increases the chances. However, good coaching can take average talent and depth a long way to equalize the bigger schools. I think our region has several very good coaching staffs...Greenbrier, Station Camp, White House (oh that hurts to say that), Sycamore, and maybe Pearl Cohn...that can get the most out of their players and make them better than they "ought to be". That means there will be one very good team in our region left out of the playoff mix....and that will be a true shame. The #3 and 4 seed out of Region 3-3A will not be nearly as good as any of our top 5 (at least they haven't been the last couple of years). It is a shame that someone will miss out. Bisonpride
Agreed fatcat, our region seems to be good as it always is. And truely will be a shame a team or two will have to miss out on the playoffs. But atleast it should be another year of 4-3a dominating 3-3a again.
