The number 8 ranked 2A team in the state rolled into the Eagles nest Friday night to welcome the Eagles to 2A...hats off to Westview...they are a big, strong, fast team...they play well on both sides of the ball...The Chargers took a 14-0 lead into intermission and with an early 3rd qtr pick looked to be about to put it away...but Josh Aldridge came up big with a fumble recovery which the Eagles drove 70 yds to cash in on...making it 14-7...the Chargers answered with a score making it 21-7...the Eagles drove down midway throught the 4th qtr and cut the lead to 21-13 when the PAT was blocked...with 2 minutes remaining Martin punched in the final score making it 28-13...overall I was pleased with our first 2A outing...the better team won, but we did not fold like many had predicted...the message boards had said we would hang around early but fade late...we were still in the hunt the entire game...Good luck to the Chargers the rest of the way...

 

Player of the Game

Josh Aldridge...Josh played both ways and offered good protection on offense against a strong defensive rush and was in the middle of things on defense all night...

Isaac Grizzell had some big catches and a score from his wide out spot

Blake Taylor had a score and several grabs from his wide out spot as well

David Payne turned in a stellar performance from his outside LB spot
