This should be a great game, two teams that are near the top of their respective classifications. I think strength of schedule will come into play here. This will be the first true test for the mustangs. Don't give me that 4A Stratford stuff. Goodpasture has beaten two 5A teams in McGavock and Ravenwood, both of whom had a tremendous size advantage. This years Goodpasture squad is built around speed, speed, speed. If the cougars can slow down Holt, I think they have enough offensive weapons to pull this one out. Even if it is just for bragging rights, both teams will benefit from playing this level of competition come playoff time. My pick:

GP 28

DL 17

Lipscomb: 38

Goodpasture: 35

Both of these teams are very explosive offensively and still developing defensively. These two offenses will test the other teams defenses to the limit. I expect a great game with all of the great playmakers these two teams have on the field.

Kyle Lehning may be the "hero" in this one much like Cutler Robertson was in the game that Lipscomb won over Goodpasture back in 2003 when the game was a shootout.

Oh wait 'satan' put them there, right? /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

I didn't know dinosaurs played football. Maybe if one time has a T-rex that would help them win. Though I imagine it would be hard to keep him in the game as I'm sure eating the opponents would result in an ejection.

This is interesting. I wonder what dinosaurs would make the best football players? Obviously brontosaurus would have to be lineman- the reasons are obvious/ brontosaurus was the smartest of the dinosaurs. T-rex would be a linebacker- mindless killing machine. I'm thinking velociraptor would be a DB- very speedy and aggressive.

Wowcraft,

Avoid looking at the shiny objects. (I believe this thread is about a football game between two very good programs that just happen to be Christian schools.)

Lipscomb by 3 in a close one. I agree with Big Country, a FG could decide it.

    • I have no affiliation with Maryville anymore outside of being a 2nd generation graduate from a large family of Rebel alumni. That relationship ended courtesy of the lame duck AD (a Bearden grad I might add) and the HBIC. That said, I could care less if a private school comes through and offers every promising athlete out of that school or any other school better opportunities.
    • A perfect example is for athletes at Clinton High School. I will completely understand, and hopefully everyone should understand why they want to, and as of right now, it looks like that’s going to happen in numbers over the summer.
    • I mean, that’s easy to say when it hasn’t happened to your school that often, if at all, but yeah, I think everybody should be for the student athlete or player. Whatever they think will help them or their athletic career, I feel like they should be able to do that, even if that means transferring schools. Now I don’t really get that when you have almost every offer you could want and then jump ship, but what can I say? I guess money talks.
    • I for one am all for it.
    • Covid killed the city because they chose not to play football in the 2020 season. Therefore, kids weren't able to practice and develop, and continuing to lift weights. Memphis basically had 7/8 graders, skipping a year, then playing 9/10 high school football. Now, there's only one team that has made a "dent" which will be Southwind (made it to the 5A semifinals last year).  If you want to go more suburbs, then it'll be Houston, which won the 6A state title, defeating Oakland Other than that, I agree.
