Questions for out West

For any of the Region X coaches out there, can you give me a run down on returning state qualifiers? I haven't seen any articles from the Appeal and looking at their track record at covering wrestling, they probably wont come out with a pre-season review. Also, have the locations for team and individual regionals been decided yet? I'd like to make it out there at least once before I graduate from a center of hight education.

Thanks from the great white north.

Can't help you on returning qualifiers but based on the first scheduling meeting the region tournaments are as follows:

Jan 27 ??“ Region X duals at Arlington

Feb. 8 ??“ 9 ??“ Region X Individual at Houston

Isn't that last year's tournaments.

Being in your new "house" hasn't improved your posting accuracy

For once I do agree with Region X, I thought that was last year's region locations. I know a lot of the old farts (me included) from the 'Ville want the team tourny back in the dragons den. Does any one have any interesting match ups during the x-mas break, such as houston's dual with the MN team a couple years back?

That is what was sent out from the last coaches' meeting. That definitely doesn't mean that I am not wrong though. I know in the past there had been talk of having the Region Individuals at Arlington. Big gymn and their first senior class makes for a good combination.

Also I was looking through BayouBear's post and it looks good from a quick lookover aside from the fact that I think Cayson Stutes from Millington has graduated.

I also echo the urge to keep BayouBear posting, definitely needed.

And if you all want to correct me come on over to the TWF board and you will get even more chances!

Oh and I really have to laugh at Dragon12 being an old fart!

SBA not your first time to speak without accuracy. Checking West TN websites it seems Region Duals are at Germantown and Region Individual Tournament is at Arlington. We expect a webmaster to post correct info, but...

by February this will all be forgotten.

Maybe run run your post by your new boss for approval! Like the new "house" reference.

I consider myself an old fart because I may know of one of the guys starting for the school I graduated from. Is the G-town preseason still the first weekend of november?

GHS Preseason will be held during the weekend of Nov.8,9,10. A little different format. I believe that the middle school will go one day, the Novice one day and the Advanced one day. This keeps all wrestlers to one day of competition.

You are correct, sometimes I miss some information. But I try to get it right. as far as the webmaster comment you are right, hence why it wasn't posted on my site /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> . Be seeing you all around soon!

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
