The Lady Cavs (7AAA)venture into Lady Blue Devil(7A) land.

This may be the best defencive match-up of the year.

The lady Cavs have a very strong base line presence.

The Lady Blue Devils have a strong perimeter.

Both Coaches preach Defence to their kids.

This could be a good'n.

Cookeville hosts the girls from Hog Eye (LA) country.

it seems tonight that Siegel has finally found its ground with a 51-44 win over Bradley Academy, Morgan Faulkner came in and helped her team....between Faulkner and Wright, they combined for 34 of the teams 51 points, senior leadership will be the key to Siegel being successful this year, looking forward to a great year....

Well, the monkey is off of Siegel's back. After losing 3 straight to three good teams, they won tonite against Brentwood Academy 51-44. After having only 4 players back from last year and three of the four playing other sports, losing one player to injury and rebuilding, it has been an interesting three games. This afternoon's contest is now bringing the team back to some semblence of order. The coaching staff is now is able to use those things which has been successful the past three years. Go Stars.

 

For those who play Lincoln County and Beech which accounted for two of the losses, Lincoln County has a very good team and after watching them at Columbia, they look as if they could make a run for 8AAA District title. Beech, while young is very well coached and will give somebody fits in 9AAA.

Clarksville NW won over Siegel this afternoon 61-48 in a very hard fought game. Clarksville ne is a very, very good team and very likelyrepresent their District in the regionals. The player,who is a junior, who may have committed to Tennessee, is the real deal and scored 18 points for North West. Siegel was led by their two guards with 21 and 17 points. Siegel continues to improve but is playing a monster of a schedule and will continue to do so until District.

Riverdale is going to be a force to be reckoned with this year, despite the loss of four seniors. Morgann Swoape is at the point and so far this year she has been very impressive averaging around 14 points a game. Natalie Lanning plays either the 2 or 1 and is an outstanding 3 point shooter. Also there is Clarke Davis who usually plays the three, but can also be found down low dropping in the buckets. Not to mention Shellina Burgess who can always be found in transition for quick buckets. Shllina is the only returning starter this year, but the team is going to be pretty good. So 7AAA needs to watch out!

Siegel won over overton, Riverdale won over Gallatin, Lebanon lost to Wilson coun ty but a very good game.

The Lady CAVs handed Livingston Academy their first loss of the season, with the aid of a freshman T. Johnson explosion in the fourth quarter. She had 17 pts. Erin Helton had 20.

Blackman lost to Smyrna by about 8 points which was closer than first thought.
