Region 7-1A Playoff Picture...Cloudy

I saw Mr.Bigster trying to explain the playoff picture in this region and he like me had a headache trying to follow it..Here is my attempt...Please correct me if I'm wrong...

 

First here are the tie-breaker rules we have to follow.....

 

C. If at any point when the following tie-breaking procedures are applied, one team has beaten all the other teams that are tied for a play-off position, that team shall be rated above the others.

D. In the event of a tie for the region winner, runner-up, third-place, or fourth-place team, if either team(s) has defeated the other(s) in regular-season play, the team(s) shall be rated above the other(s) in the standings. (After the region winner has been determined, the tie-breaker procedure shall begin all over again starting at the top to work out the runner-up position. The procedure shall be repeated to determine the third- and fourth-place teams.)

E. The following tie-breaking procedures shall be applied and all regular-season games, both region and non-region, shall count (After each of the following steps have been applied, item C above shall be applied.):

1. The team with the greatest number of victories.

2. The team who has the greatest number of victories over teams winning 50 percent or more of their games.

3. The team whose opponents have earned the most victories.

4. The team whose opponents have received fewer defeats.

5. The team who has the greatest number of victories over teams in its own class.

6. Ten yardline overtime procedure at neutral site Monday night at 7:30 P.M.

A win vs Lake County wraps up McKenzie's second straight region championship officially

 

2.Bruceton.....5-3......3-2..Games Remaining..vs Greenfield..@ West Carroll

Bruceton has wins over Union City & Lake County...Bruceton has lost to McKenzie & Gleason

 

3.Union City.....5-3.....3-2..Games Remaining..vs West Carroll..@ Gleason

Union City has wins over Lake County & Greenfield..UC has lost to McKenzie & Bruceton

 

4.Lake County....5-3....3-2..Games Remaining..@ McKenzie..@ Greenfield

Lake County has wins over Gleason.....LC lost to Union City and Bruceton

 

5.Greenfield......4-4.....3-2..Games Remaining..@ Bruceton..vs Lake County

Greenfield has wins over Gleason....G'Field has lost to McKenzie & Union City

 

6.Gleason.....5-3......2-3..Games Remaining..vs South Fulton..vs Union City

Gleason has wins over Bruceton......Gleason has lost to Lake County,Greenfield & McKenzie

 

7.West Carroll.......1-7.....1-4

 

8.South Fulton.......1-7.....0-5

 

This 8-team region has SIX TEAMS at or above .500 overall and the only teams without a chance for a playoff game is West Carroll & South Fulton......

 

There are way too many scenarios to go through if this or that happened..Just for fun look at what could happen with some of the games coming up the next two weeks and try to figure out where your team could wind up.....
