First of all, let me start by saying congratulations to the Dragons of York Institute. They are the better football team. I had my doubts after the first game, but I think they have improved. I had hoped that SC would come out and take over this game, but it didn't happen. SC couldn't slow down the York offense and had difficulty scoring on their defense. Once again, I repeat, I think York is the better team now, and congratulations on a very big playoff win and making school history. No excuses from me, York executed better and that is what good teams do.

Please understand that this has nothing to do with the game and who the better team was. I have already said that York was better, and I truly mean that. Now, normally, I would be supporting York, because they are in our region. You always want to see the teams in your region advance, especially when they put you out. But not this time. I am at a loss for words really, but I am managing to put something together. The hospitality was pathetic. I mean that. You can say, "cry me a river!" But I am serious, and it's a reflection to the entire Jamestown community. First of all, when you drive up to pull into the stadium, a parking attendant will ask you where you are from. Only if you live in Fentress County can you park inside the stadium. If you are from Smith County, or other places, they make you park across the road or just down the street. Never have I heard of anything like that. How many teams go out on the field before a game and just walk the field? SC always does. Is that considered unsportsmanlike? I have never heard of anyone complain about except for the people from Jamestown. As a matter of fact, Yorks entire team come out onto the field and was motioning SC players, and inviting them to walk on that end of the field. Of course, SC players just went to the other end of the field and walked and got their team prayer. This was planned. Fans were cheering in the stands, routing their children on and the coaches must have okayed this. I was so proud of the SC players for not making a big deal about this and handling it in a very sportsmanlike manner. It was gret to see the discipline and sportsmanship that the parents of the kids and their coaches have instilled in them. That has to be very rewarding. Coach Derwin Wright may the best coach in the state of Tennessee. And that is great. He does a very good job winning games this year that is for sure. But, I question his integrity and many other things about him. He is the head football coach and the principal of York Institute. The biggest influence in those kids life away from home and he let go on what happened before the game. I mean what would York have done if SC walked to that end of the field? Fought them? Very nice. And after all of this has went on, Coach Wright has the audacity to accuse SC players for trying to take out #26 late in the game, and throwing a fit about it. That is absurd. RESPECT is something that I don't have for the people of Jamestown. Blast me for it. That is fine. It isn't sunshine's fault that the got 25 unsportsmanlike conduct penalties last year, and it is obvious for me to see. He was just a kid with poor leadership. There is a reason why Upperman was complaining about the same thing. Passing dirty fliers out during the Upperman game to all the fans. All of this doesn't stem from tonight's events. But that is when I came to realize something. Yeah, this game is about winning, and then to most it is about winning and doing it with class. I will guarantee you that almost every team that has played SC whether they WON or LOST will tell you that SC done it with class and was respectful. And to people like me, I am proud to cheer for a program that does exactly that.

the last time they were here they were not just praying around the goal post they were hitting it and smacking it , then they went to OUR York Y in the middle of the field to beak down, if you call that class i would hate to see what you call unclassy The Dragons were just protecting their house and they did a pretty darn good job of it. Way to go DRAGONS!!!!

I would say complaining about kids praying anywhere would be classless. I would invite kids to pray anywhere in our stadium, heck, pray on top of our fieldhouse if you want, I'll join you. I have a competitive dislike for Carthage from way back, but that's just sports, I'll still shake their hands in church on Sunday morning.

I think you need to re-read the post. They weren't just praying, they were slapping/hitting the goal post and breaking down on the "Y" , which is purely classless. AND it didn't seem to help the outcome of the game did it?

Praying is very supported in Fentress County. A lot can be accomplished by praying.

Being disrespectful on a teams home field is NOT supported.

    • Fortuitously encountering Clint amidst the ambience of Goodyear this morning sparked an impromptu yet intellectually stimulating conversation, wherein we engaged in a rigorous assessment of prospective candidates for the esteemed role of head football coach. Our discourse, characterized by its spontaneity and depth, led to the formulation of astute observations and discerning judgments regarding the suitability of various individuals for this pivotal position. Allow me to elucidate the fruits of our collaborative contemplation: This commentary endeavors to offer a discerning articulation of my subjective viewpoint, emphasizing a conscientious commitment to maintaining impartiality and refraining from any semblance of derogation directed towards individuals.  Those who possess meritorious qualifications for the esteemed head coaching role, delineated without hierarchical precedence, include: Rennard Woodmore, an esteemed alumnus of the Yellow Jackets, presents a magnificent pedigree, having held prominent positions in head coaching capacities across various regions. His pivotal role as a coordinator for teams contending for state championships further enhances his stature in the realm of football leadership. Kyle Gregory, erstwhile adorned in the resplendent gold insignia, though lacking direct head coaching experience, brings to the fore his invaluable insights garnered as a coordinator for esteemed teams, showcasing an acute understanding of the requisites for triumph whilst attired in the esteemed purple and gold regalia. Steven Jackson, whose contributions transcended mere clipboard duties under the tutelage of Kevin Creasy, emerges as an exceptional candidate for Trousdale County. His prior tenure and triumphs as an assistant coach underscore his suitability for the role. The sole drawback lies in his lack of affiliation with Trousdale County as an alumnus. Brandon Eden's extensive tenure within the chronicles of Trousdale County football, spanning a significant portion of its State Championships, coupled with his successful stints as a coordinator across diverse locales, underscores his candidacy despite a dearth of direct head coaching experience at the high school level. Davy Cothron, while beset by a modest playing career, has emerged as a luminary in offensive strategy, drawing parallels to the transformative appointment of Barker in 2015, thereby warranting consideration for his proven acumen in this realm. Joshua Hackett, notwithstanding his non-alumnus status, has left an indelible imprint across Middle Tennessee, distinguished by his adept curation of formidable defensive units as a coordinator at Watertown, albeit without direct head coaching experience. Kevin Creasy, the epitome of coaching prowess, merits an offer irrespective of his current inclinations, his unparalleled capacity to secure victories transcending geographical and institutional bounds, potentially extending to a role as Director of Schools should it align with his aspirations. Conversely, individuals who have not demonstrably earned the mantle of head coaching, enumerated without sequential precedence, encompass: Brad Waggoner David Barker Paul Pitts Jeremy Pruitt Clint Satterfield Robbie Atwood Wesley Satterfield Ben Johnson BJ West Whom do you all deem most fitting to assume the mantle of the next coach, and what rationale informs your choice? Conversely, whom do you perceive as ill-suited for the role, and what underpins your reasoning for their exclusion?
    • He's a Clinton fan.  But I wouldn't admit that either.
    • Their any schedule out their for team camp?
    • This sums it all up to perfection.
    • Just read the article! In one statement he says he didn’t know the player was academically ineligible yet he also says he met with a teacher in 2022 to discuss putting the player in credit recovery.  I find it hard to believe a Head Coach doesn’t know a player is not eligible; are they not responsible for clearing them to the TSSAA?
