Has Smith County ever allowed anyone from Gordonsville to play for them? What is the rule in Smith County?

DCA would be a great 1a team. It just so happens Alcoa would be a great 3a team and a good 4a and 5a team ,being that the best in 4a are as good or better than the best 5a teams (see Maryville).

Brentwood Academy only has like 450 students. Thats not that much different than CPA. CPA is actually playing schools now with much higher enrollments. Lipscomb actually has almost 100 kids more than BA.

The good people of Trousdale County and the remainder of 1a and 3a would have something to say about that. Coach Clint Satterfield of Trousdale County would match up rather well aganist Coach Quarles. Obviously Maryville would have more talent, but I would testify to the fact that noone does more with less than Clint. Ask the DCA's, South Pitts, CPAs and FRAs of the 90's. Not saying he is better, but to make a blanket statement that he is "hands down the best coach" is assuming a little much. By the way, we play with home grown boys, we don't have to recruit.

To my knowledge their are no trains running through Westmoreland or Carthage for that matter. Does the train still run through Gordonsville? It doesn't run through Hartsville anymore. We do have a depot though, which would seem to give us more right to have a train whistle (LOL). However, we don't like to copycat anything Portland does, as everyone knows Carthage stole the idea from our Sumner County neighbors. By the way, I was at a Clinic Bowl at which Portland really tired of hearing a train whistle pulled all the way from Jasper. (Wonder if they have a train?)

Do you really believe Hickman and Lewis would both have been in the semi's? There are a few good teams in region 5aa also (See Goodpasture, CPA, DCA). Also, Hickman will get smoked by Goodpasture.

Congrats to York on their great season. We always enjoyed coming up when we were in 3a. I say the best thing about your great season is that you guys discovered computers.

Just gettin' back into town and reading the T. Someone must be crazy. Of course we'll make the playoffs. I think we can handle RBS. Look for the Jackets to make some noise in the playoffs. I think we'll surprise some people. I know Coach Clint will have the boys fighting to the end!

That would make Carthage the "dream draw -8". The fact that someone is wanting to play you in the playoffs speaks volumes. I think if I couldn't win region 4aa in a down year with 20 seniors I would keep my mouth shut.

I've seen both teams, Eagles is scrimmages and jamboree, Carthage (Smith County) puttin' a tail whippen' on us a few weeks ago. I think the Owls probably have better talent and should be the favorite. I just think the Eagles have alot to prove and they come out Friday and pull out the tough victory. This guy must be trying to yank everyones chain because Westy doesn't have a chance to blow out the Owls. Good luck Eagles. Sorry Owls, Good friends in Smith County, I was just raised to root against Carthage in sports.
