I sure hope Friday's game is better than the last time these two teams met. In 2005, first round, Smyrna won 31-7. In 2004, first round Smyrna won 41-6. Both years L.C. went 6 and 4 in the regular season, this year 8 and 2. Yes region 3 is a weak region but it has not been as weak this year as the last two or three. No doubt Smynra has a great football team and I would say great tradition but they better not look to a rematch with Riverdale just yet. Ask the '84 Falcons or the '88 Falcons, they'll tell you not to plan anything in advance. 1984 L.C., 10-0, 8 shutouts beat Oakland 8-0 regular season but lost to them 31-14 in the first round. 1988 L.C., 9-1, 4 shutouts beat Oakland 19-0 regular season lost to them 21-17 semi-finals. I would like to say to everyone that's going to make the drive down to the pit to have a safe trip and I hope everyone here treats you with the class we should have and you deserve.

From what I have read and seen, I think Smyrna is the better team. However, it is very difficult to go into the pit and win, especially during the playoffs. Even with that, and giving LC the credit they deserve, I think Smyrna takes this one by 10.

You are exactly correct......thanks for posting those Oakland scores. That game in 88 was my first season to follow Oakland, and that game was a real comeback for them. It was one of the most exciting games that I have ever seen.
