I watched the upperman york game last night on the cookeville station..The girls game in my oppinion was way to physical and no calls for it...

The boy's game was called, pretty tight i thought, but i have a question or two for any official reading.

When those boy's throwed the tp on the floor at the begining of the game why where they not escorted out as well as some of the other fan's?

Why was it a T on the team they were from? Why were they not removed?

There is a line IMO that all fan's should not cross. Being loud and proud is one thing but you know things can go to far. Evidentally this did. I did see MR.Leftwhich talking to the student section, I am sure he did every thing to detour things that escalated. I honestly hope both teams conduct thierselves in a proper manner through out the rest of this season The ones responsible for these action do nothing but hurt the team mates that are out there busting their rumps to make you proud. Now the fan's need to do the same, good clean competition makes for a great game. I really hope to see that from now on.

I did not see a problem with the TP on the court, except for the fact that it gives the opponent a trip to the free throw line. That is the only part that bothers me. That was harmless, kids being kids, and from that point they better hope we win because if those freethrows are the difference in a win or a loss, MrCoachMcWilliams is going to have someones head the next morning in class. and rightfully so.

I tried to see if there was anyone throwing anything at the York fans, as they had alleged. I saw nothing. I also asked the neighbor kids, who were stuck right in the middle of the UHS student section. They said they didnt know of anything that was thrown except the TP. (There are only 3 kids in the whole crowd that I KNOW I can get the truth out of, and they all said there was nothing thrown that they knew of)

The only thing that I saw on the tape that was any problem was the York Fans on the edge of the court, blocking the path between the bleachers and the lobby. They were trying to intimidate, and they did a good job of it.

When a Upperman kid has to come over to his father and say "dad, I dont know what to do, they said they are going to get me after the game", then there is a problem.

The reason I ask about The tp is you usually don't wait this late in the year. It is either at homecoming or at least an out of town team that you are pretty sure your going to win.

With the rivalry between these two teams I don't think it was the smartest thing to do on this given night. I don't have a problem with kid's being kid's but there is a line, and alot of the kid's parents aren't at these games and the kid's normally do things they wouldn't do if they know thier parents are lurking around at least mine did..

He was always watching where i was cause he knew if he did some he wouldn't suppose to I bust his rump lol /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

I don't agree with the standing up of the york students, Where they were they used like thier student section and if upperman kid's stand and yell you know the other team will do the same and that is just where it happened to be. Maybe the seating arrangements need to be a lil diffrent or at least consider it. If they are a gym apart you get a better rivalry going cause they can't hear who cussed who they just know it is a bunch of yelling, all the hot air has time to diffuse itself before it escalates /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

yeah, a parent or two lurking around would have probably changed a lot of this situation. I understand what you are saying with the TP, but it was still pretty harmless in the grand scheme of things.

And as far as the seating arrangements, that is a tough one, because it usually works out very well. As I have said before, probably more times than you all want to read, this is the only place I have ever been where seating was so much of an issue. Everywhere I have ever been, the visitors sit behind the visitor bench (sometimes, just to give a buffer between the bench and the fans) and that was all they got. I think half of one side of the upperman gym is plenty of room for 99 percent of the games played in that place.

the JC fans all fit on half (except the ones that didnt WANT to fit on one half) same for the York Fans, and for every game I was at last year. There are not enough seats in the gym to just give up an entire side for the visitors. Friday night that place is going to be as packed as it has ever been, and I can promise you that anyone who WANTS to fit in the visitors section (as it is arranged now) will actually fit.

It is all about "want to".

And if you "want to" you can get along with anybody....even me!!!

The rule is that each coach is responsible for the behavior of his team, fans, everybody that is associated with his or her school during the game. Thats why the technical is called on the team. /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

I am getting along with you aint I, Just cause a few a us spank you and make you like it don't mean we dont wuv ya!!

If you took a poll on the seating arrangement i would say Hands down every team in this area don't like it cause there are times Upperman kid's have been disrespectful ! Not saying they ar the only ones. One suggestion comes in to mind they need to open the far doors so they can walk around that side and thru the hall. They might be one thing to think about and they need to scoot over to the end that might help a lil too!! IF it wasn't sr night at JC i would be there watching the LA upperman game IT is going to be a good one. I don't think they will be a incident like with York> LA fans are pretty classy people but They are like a sleeping dog if you kick them you going to get bit they aint no if and's about that one.. I wish both teams the best Friday!!

That ref will be doing varsity games next year. He has asked to do all of Bartlett's home games. /unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" /> /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

we of course WE are getting along, but WE are exceptional!!! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

Having been in this area only a short time, I am certainly not one to make any corrections, but opening the doors at the other end does make sense.

I also only have one year to go back to as far as my memory of how fans are, but I do have a vivid recollection of the LA @ Upperman game last year, and Im sure it will be quite an experience this year. Especially with all the marble up for grabs.

I like the competitive nature of the teams, and the fans around here. And I also like that we can sit here and bs with each other all week also. That makes the games a bit more fun.

Nobody hates losing more than I do, and I know when I was younger I didnt always take certain things as well as I do now. I just hope that the kids from both York and Upperman have been learning from what has gone on, and not just stewing on it.

ok....back to what matters in life........bedazzled -v- nonbedazzled thongs.... /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

Good luck to the JC girls Fri. night, especially to all the seniors. They will be missed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm going to pick the JC girls by 3. Go Big Blue!!!!!!!!!!! I hope the seniors have a huge night. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

I'm going to watch LA/Upperman battle it out. Go HOGEYE!!!!!!!!!!! This is the game of the week. It will be a defensive battle . I expect it sells, kilgore, west to have a good night. But, I wouldn't count out Uppermans' Davis or Dyer to be silent. If LA leaves the backdoor open, Dyer/Davis could have a huge night. So, I'm predicting LA by 2. Maybe decided in the fourth quarter or OT.

GO HOGEYE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My parents will be in town from MI for the weekend. I am thinking of hauling them to the gym for the game, but my 75 year old father likes to say what he wants, when he wants, and Im not sure this place could handle the fallout from that!!! /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> danged ol yankees anyways.
