1) Howard -- 1 upset loss this season to Hixson; swept Brainerd and Chatt Christian and beat AE; with Harper, Taylor, and Ricks leading the way; AE this week; 6-1 IN 6AA

2) Brainerd -- upset by Tellico; only other losses to Howard; beat AE twice; led by Big Fred and Jackson with some nice complimentary guards; 11-1 in 5AA

3) Austin East -- tough team with only quality losses; best AA in Knoxville area; swept Fulton; 8-0 in 3AA; led by Jones twins and sharpshooter Florence and big Soph Pryor; can turn up heat quick, but sometimes lazy as seen in loudon loss

4) Fulton -- solid starting 5 with Gallman and Steele providing scoring punch; defensively as good as it gets; great coaching; depth and size could be an issue

5) Anderson County -- depth seems to be Mavericks key; 8-1 in 4AA; led by Rorex and junior guards Cross and Longmire; great size, but White's injury could be huge; defense has been soft in past, but could make substate run

6) Unicoi County -- Upper East TN's best; 11-0 in 1AA; level of competition is not comparable to #'s 1-5; a definite sub state team; have won nearly 40 conference games in a row in the Watauga; Drew Rice is a tough match for anyone

7) Carter -- two blowout losses to Fulton; great talent with Caldwell and Stanton at guard, Meady inside, and Wilson as intangible; good coach but team has trouble with chemistry; long spell without region appearance, should change this season

8) Chucky Doak -- rising again due to so much inconsistency in AA ranks; great record, but weak competition; transfer Dobner has definitely helped; jury still out

9) Catholic -- inconsisitent play but no on else stepping up; Walden and Conaty give good guard play, Hood is tough inside; coaching is solid, and play good comp; depth is a concern

10) McMinn Central, Loudon, Cumberland Gap, Sweetwater, Tellico, Rutledge, Stone Memorial, Johnson County -- to close to call

McMinn Central is that low?

yeah mcminn central is that low. Tellico should be around ten and this is the best rankings i have seen on here, except that brainerd should move down. Tellico has a good team and deserves to be there, but they play shakey at times so mcminn central would get the nod for number ten. we will have to see what goes on in tournament week. that will prove it all. I went to the Brainerd and Central game and left at halftime, because it was so bad. Tellico beat Brainerd so if you wanna move Central higher than you have to pull Tellico up with them.

Both of you guys need to quit playing! Hixson is better than both teams

They might lose to A-E even if they had those guys. A-E is pretty good.

Boy Stop! Do you even know who Ricks is! He is only the best player in the city! And you must have not been at the game when they played at Howard and Was up by 30 plus at one time. Not to mention Brainerd beat them twice and Howard owns brainerd and the city of Chattanooga

Brainerd did not drop because Brainerd swept AE(#3), who swept Fulton(#4). Everyone loses sometime, but that does not always drop them if they are clearly better than the teams below them. McMinn Central is where they need to be, fighting for #10. They might rise this week in the new rankings, but they might not. It must all be re-evaluated.

Playing games! no way are these two teams better than Hixson. Yeah Tellico beat brainerd, but any team can be beat on any night. If they played again Brainerd would win atleast by 30

AMEN!! Its hard to go unbeaten a whole season expecially when players, such as Ricks are injured. Ricks can be the most effective person on the court and only have ten points. Howard is better than AE. And Hixson deserves some sort of respect amongst teams like McMinn Central and Telllico plains.

    • Richland plays at McKenzie on Wed.  Should be a good series.  Does Richland have good pitching?
    • Congratulations to the Warrior baseball team winning the Region Championship.  Last night the football team beat Franklin Co 33-0 in their spring scrimmage. Warriors looked very good. Missing a few players who were playing baseball but still absolutely dominated. A lot of young ones got in halfway through the 3rd when the score reached 33-0. QB Tilton Pickett looked very sharp.  Sam Pickett is on another level this season. Seems to have put on 15 to 20 lbs in the off season and added a step as well. Transfer from last year Williamson caught numerous balls and is very elusive. Lots of athletes on this team. Defense was smothering and will only get better. The head coach from Sewanee was in attendance and offered 2 kids after the game. Could be a special year.
    • I heard Alabama was at Antioch practice and Colorado has offered QB. Hoping the Bears have a great year.
