Also, Ron Mercer and Oliver Simmons played for Kentucky. Mercer played for two years before entering the NBA draft, where he was a lottery pick. Simmons later transferred to Florida State.

The Arkansas team that won the 94 natiional title had several players from Memphis - Corey Beck and Dwight Stewart, and I think there were a couple of others.

Todd Day was from Memphis and played at Arkansas, but he wasn't on the team that won the national title in 94.

Corey Brewer could be on this list. He would be a senior but left a year early for the NBA.

My bag not todd day, Elmer Martin was from memphis that played along those guys

Mercer was in the NBA when I started making the lists and Oliver was playing for Fla St. at the time.

Some other interesting facts; The cities with the most players playing D-I basketball are Memphis (48), Nashville (19), Jackson (6), and Knoxville (5). The overall regional breakdown is: West Tennessee (69 players), MIddle Tennessee (48 players), East Tennessee (19). The high schools with the most players playing D-I are: White Station (7 players), Hamilton (5 players), Ridgeway (5 players), Liberty Tech (4 players). In the 11 years I have compiled these lists, these are the major conference teams that have never had a Tennessee players on it's roster: ACC (Maryland, Miami) A-10 (Rhode Island, Saint Joseph's, Fordham, Saint Louis, Temple, Duquesne, La Salle, St. Bonaventure), Big 10 (Michigan State, Ohio St., Wisconsin, Purdue, Minnesota, Michigan, Penn St., Northwestern), Big 12 (Kansas, Texas, Tex A&M, Missouri, Baylor, Okla, Okla St., Nebraska, TX Tech, Iowa St.) Big East (Marquette, Syracuse, UCONN, Providence, Villanova, Notre Dame, DePaul, Rutgers), C-USA (all teams have had players from Tennessee on roster at some point; 8 current) Pac-10 (UCLA, Oregon, Wash St, Stanford, Wash, Cal, Ariz St, Oregon St), SEC (Kentucky, South Carolina, Arkansas, LSU),

Also, I forgot to add Jamie Graham from Whites Creek to the list but did include him in the numbers above. If I forgot anyone on the list, let me know!!

Delk who played at Kentucky was from Tennessee as was Ron Mercer.

You need to add Tyler Cutter of Siegel to that list. He is a freshman at Indiana State

    • So much talk about an investigation about student record manipulation and then everything has went silent. Has anyone heard how the investigation is going?
    • Basically what you're saying is schools can basically bully students around and get away with it because they are protected. I agree to a certain extent but when schools decisions to keep knuckleheads on staff starts costing kids careers and a college education there is a problem. Our school system last week had a teacher supposedly push a kid and the parents went to the law and the teacher is suspended. So I wouldn't say that they can just do what they want without liability. This case don't pass the smell test because the coach had already been fired before and she got fired after a year on the job. Sounds like the student was right in this case on the outside looking in because the coach gets fired after one year. How many coaches get fired after one year?? Not many.
    • Problem with DB football goes beyond coaching. Like Waco said. Thr band is the main focus of their community and school. They have the resources to be a championship level team. Guarantee Ballard or Witten could have them nationally relevant at some point but everyone down to peewee would have to buy in and at DB we all know that would never happen.
    • I know the RB from OR he’s fast and has good hands. Is good on special teams also. Didn’t want to play defense over to the Ridge.
    • Lieutenant Flip flops is on a roll. #1 recruiter in Anderson Co, fo-sho.
