What do the match-ups look like? Obviously WC has another strong presence inside. Can the WC guards handle the OR defensive speed?

 

One thing that gets lost in talking about the OR press and speed is that the Lady Cats outrebounded the larger and stronger Shelbyville team. OR is not just speed, although that part of their game is just phenominal.

I look for this to be a very good game. WC played very well last night Hassel was unstoppable the team made some great entry passes to her and the Defense was very good as well. I was also very impressed with Oak Ridge, though shelbyville was a much taller team Oak Ridge beat them to the boards every time. If oak ridge out rebounds WC like they did shelbyville they will more than likley win. Well speed does kill, but the Mighty Kitties face Mt. Juliet 4 or 5 times a year (probably 10 times within a 12 month period) and the full court press is a MJ trademark. Must hit your shots at any speed!

It is the first time for the two teams to meet this year. As for common opponents: both teams have played Bradley Central - WC won (62-61)- OR won (69-54), Shelbyville and WC split this year - in Shelbyville's win it was a 20 point home loss for WC, OR was victorious over Shelbyville last night 54-47. So no one really knows who is going to win.

 

WC has some conditioning issues they'll want a slow paced game. OR should run it until Hassell tires out.

After watching both SCHS and WC, their inside games are different. SCHS had the height, but not very strong physically. OR kids moved them around fairly easily. Jarrell is big but not very strong, more of a finesse player. The big kid for WC will put a body on you and is very physical. It is clear that the guard play for WC is not as good as the guard play for SCHS. If it is an up tempo game, it favors OR, and a slower pace favors WC. We shall see in a few hours.

JC-You did an outstanding job helping get the team to the tournaments and we all know you want to be there.

CB - What a way to go out. Hopefully the decision to be a Mighty Kitty has been a good experience.

IH - Way to step in there and mix it up underneath. Look forward to great things.
