The Hixson Wildcat Baseball Classic begins on Thursday with eight local teams.

 

Pool play games will be played at Hixson and Central on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

 

Semifinal and finals will be played on Sunday.

Why are there so few teams?

I don't know. It looks like they've reduced the number of sites to 2 rather than 3 like they've had in the past.

 

Maybe they just wanted this year's tournament to have more of a Chattanooga feel.

I when to the tournament today and it was very good. The rain came before the Notre Dame-CCS game and it wasn't looking too good but the rain let up. Notre Dame looks to be on their way to the Championship possibly as long as they get by Red Bank tomorrow morning and Soddy in the afternoon that is if mother nature dosn't win.

Congrats to the Red Bank Lions on winning the 2008 Outback Wildcat Classic! The Lions defeated Hixson 6-4.
