ASA-B State tournament champions

The Columbia Lady Drillers 16-U fastpitch team captured the tournament championship today in Chattanooga, way to go girls,6-first place finishes and 1-second for the season, and a State championship. Congrats-to the great coaching staff and sponsors, were so proud.

Who plays for the Drillers that one the Class B state Tournament and where are they from?

The Columbia Drillers are mainly from Columbia, Tn. or Maury County. Our pitchers Bridget Thompson and Paige Provey are from Culleoka High School in Maury Co. The other two pitchers are Kandace Watson from Giles Co. and Ashley Fielder from Dickson Co. Our catcher is Taylor Dowd-Page High, Franklin. We also have Nikki Osborne and Heather Locklar-BGA, Chrystal Byard- Dickson High, and Samantha Patton, Casey Sheffer and our awesome slap-bunter Tara Tarkington from Spring Hill High. Our coaches are John and Sara Kirk, Norm Jenks and Frankie Locklar.

Are most of the Drillers players 15 or 16? Do they have to move up to 18u in 2003?

 

The coach told me they picked up 4 ASA "A" players to play in the NSA 16u "B" state.

The Columbia Drillers will be moving up to play 18-A next year, there will be try outs for the team. There were 3 Driller teams (same sponsor)-Columbia Drillers, Tn. Drillers and an 18U Driller team. Yes, it was a little confusing. 4 players can still play 16U next year, with the rest having to move up. Any interested players for 18A email me at ncjenks@usit.net.
