HTV
How did the "Fastest team in the district" do tonight against Carter? Fastest team in the district? Who said that, and high school football plays in regions, not districts. And to answer the question, ones vs. ones played about even. I left before the scrimmage was over, so I don't know exactly how the "final" score turned out. With the format, it was hard to really determine who had the upper hand, anyway. Powell struggled at times in the secondary, but Carter laid the ball down at least 4 times and Powell picked off a couple of passes. With the format as it was, they kept the ball even after the turnovers, however, so it's really hard to know what would have happened in a "game like" format. Powell still needs to find some offensive linemen. That's no secret to anybody at this point. Kier Houston made some good throws. He and Tyler Payne were clicking especially well together. Carter needs to hold on the ball and find some depth. They are playing too many guys, especially linemen, both ways and that began to show during the second or third "series" as they began to drag just a bit. In any event, it looked like a first scrimmage of the spring. Both teams did some good things and both teams looked very sloppy at times.
