Who is hurting by the high gas prices?

The following is the price of gas in each of the countries listed (adjusted to a MPG from MPL and in US currency):

Norway $6.82

Hong Kong $6.25

London $5.90

Italy $5.80

Japan $5.42

Brazil $4.42

India $3.71

South Africa $3.39

Mexico $2.20

--------------------------

Saudi Arabia $ .91

Kuwait $ .78

Venezuela $ .12

I think it is funny that the Communist and Socialist economies have such low prices and the free market economies are taking the hit on fuel prices! Granted, it is cheaper to manufacture the gasoline when it is in your back yard but we still pump a large percentage of our gas out of the U.S.! Gas is cheaper in MEXICO than it is in the good old USA! If we truly have a free market economy of supply and demand in operation, how can anyone explain how Saudi Arabia can turn a profit on their gas at $.91 a gallon and we pay almost $4.00 a gallon in the US? Does it cost that much to ship it here? I think not!

High school football coaches keep moving from school to school accross the southeast, therefore driving up demand in the United States because of truck rentals.
