After a year's absence the Tennessee-Georgia All-Star Soccer Classic returns to the pitch on Thursday as historic Harmon Field in Dalton will play host to this year's Classic.

The Girls' Classic will begin at 6 p.m. with the Boys' Classic to follow.

The Tennessee girls lead the overall series, 3-0, while the Tennessee boys lead, 3-1. Georgia's lone win was a 2-1 victory in the most recent match, the 2006 Classic at Hixson High School.

Over the years, the Classic has featured many players who helped lead their team to deep runs in the state playoffs and this year will be no exception.

The Tennessee squads will be represented by players from seven different schools that all participated in this year's state tournaments while Georgia's rosters will also feature seven schools that made the state field.

The All-Star Classics feature recent graduates from a dozen counties in Southeast Tennessee and Northwest Georgia.

Because when this started, people werent sure how big the all star soccer match would be. So it started first with boys, it was a success. So girls was added, especially since girls were asking--why no girls match.

I hope that people will support this again, it was alot of work, but alot of fun the 3 years I was involved. So everyone, please go to Riverbend late on thursday and go out and support TN soccer.

Cree will you be attending the game. I would like to drive down to Dalton for the game to see what it is like. Will be there for the boys game and at least the first half of the girls.
