no this is the knoxville knews sentinels version of All Area.

 

Great group of guys on the squad. I can't imagine having to make this team. There are so many deserving players, but only a few spots. I know that there are many boys on teams that could have been on there that were not because of the limitations of the spots, and the abundance of talent in the region. For those of you who were not selected, please know that there are many coaches who recognize your talents (and have discussed them at length with other coaches) and you should hold your heads up high.

 

It's like a state championship. If the only thing that teams measured the success of their season on was winning a state championship, then by that definition, there would only be 4 successful teams in the state of TN each year. That simply is not the case. The same can be said about player recognition and awards. Don't judge your talent or self worth based on a poll (right MVM?) or all star team says. There are MANY players, even in the Knoxville area, that have so much talent that get looked over.

 

Either way, congrats again to the selections. I look forward to following your futures in the sport that we all love!

when does the all state for east tn come out?

 

There isn't an All State for east TN... it is for the entire state.

 

The TACA All State usually comes out in late July. Getting coaches to respond to things in the summer is near impossible!

      So much talk about an investigation about student record manipulation and then everything has went silent. Has anyone heard how the investigation is going?

      Basically what you're saying is schools can basically bully students around and get away with it because they are protected. I agree to a certain extent but when schools decisions to keep knuckleheads on staff starts costing kids careers and a college education there is a problem. Our school system last week had a teacher supposedly push a kid and the parents went to the law and the teacher is suspended. So I wouldn't say that they can just do what they want without liability. This case don't pass the smell test because the coach had already been fired before and she got fired after a year on the job. Sounds like the student was right in this case on the outside looking in because the coach gets fired after one year. How many coaches get fired after one year?? Not many.

      Problem with DB football goes beyond coaching. Like Waco said. Thr band is the main focus of their community and school. They have the resources to be a championship level team. Guarantee Ballard or Witten could have them nationally relevant at some point but everyone down to peewee would have to buy in and at DB we all know that would never happen.
