school zone effect on sports

Recommended Posts

the motion passed to make the Pearl Cohn cluster expand. Alot poeple was saying Hillsboro would drop off. Not so much they are expected to have more kids in thier school. Pearl Cohn will only go up about another 150 students, Hillwood would drop to about of total of 950 students..How will it effect the football side of things?

RIGHT..coaching and the right players. however two of the three of these schools are some really good progams in the nashville public school system pearl cohn and hillsboro. Did we forget these two schools use to play each other on the first week of the season. big rival game it use to be. I am from this area and i support both schools. It would be good to see this rival game back in the north nashville area.

Pearl Cohn hit the JACKPOT (doesn't matter how many words /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> ) with this re-zoning. They are going to be a 3A school for the 2009-2010 football seasons. 3A in the "Z-Plan" is basically what we now know as 2A. Pearl Cohn is going to get the luxury of playing in a class where they will be a very large school enrollment wise and when you factor into account that they get "extra players" for football from MLK then that is SCARY!!!

Hillwood won't drop to a 4A school until the 2011 season because their numbers will be taken off of the fall of 2008 enrollment. Life in 5A is going to be rough for 2009 & 2010 for the Hilltoppers.

Why don't you go ahead and predict a PC State Title in 09 or 10. You will have an older Nick Hill at WR and all that talent from North Nashville. Lipscomb and Knox Fulton shouldn't have a chance against you guys in 09 and 10. /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

Lipscomb and Fulton will be 4A then you expert. PC will be playing in a postseason bracket with Goodpasture, CPA, maybe DCA, Lewis Co., Hickman Co., Cheatham Co., etc. They wouldn't see Alcoa until a possible Blue Cross Bowl.

I think there's no way that they shouldn't at least get to the Boro. I don't know if they can beat Alcoa but that's another argument for another day.

12NCS you seem to be a person who really has it out for Pearl Cohn. In particular from remembering your past postings I must also say that you are a person who has it out for Tony Brunetti in general. What is the deal with that???? Just because he is no Alabama fan doesn't give you the right to bash on him constantly.

I am finding it to be true that all Hillsboro fans are arrogant and really have it out for any other Metro/Nashville school that has enjoyed success. It's like you guys are jealous of Pearl Cohn and Maplewood for the success that they've both enjoyed in recent years.

You have even gone on record in your postings and said that the PC players were falsely given credit for signing to play at the next level.

I have very good reason to feel the way I do about a few things that go on within the PC football family and have felt that way for a very long time. On the other hand, your hate for Hillsboro or jealously is obvious as well as my feelings for PC. I have never bashed anyone for liking or disliking Alabama and I am not sure where that statement comes from.

Deaunte Mason is a kid that I have known since his 5th grade year. I love that kid and have the utmost respect for him and his family and wish him the very best at UK.

    • Dyersburg may win back to back to back championships. They are going to be hands down the best 3A team. Plus their District/region/sectionals are not very good. They basically just have to make it to region out of a 5 team district that has a few decent teams. South Gibson will be okay but they graduate their best player and there is nobody in the region 7 or region 8 who is going to compete with them.
    • I remember very well watching things change in the late 80's and yes it's all schools. Most people that are in charge today have any idea because they were raised and taught under this social experiment so they don't have a clue. Anyone that does see the truth for what it is usually try and hide it by blending in so that the School Gestapo doesn't round them up and take them to the Fuhrer ( kindly putting it ). Yes it is all schools not just Maryville. This train ride is not headed in a good direction and if the public had seen a movie of what's happening now back in 1980 everyone would have been headed home afterwards to change underware.
    • Hoping to make the playoffs.
    • You are so correct!  It’s really 99.9% of academia want to change to way that education is not only taught but the way it is viewed.  The pendulum has definitely swung as far to the left as possible and eventually will swing to the right much too far.  I have always  said that politics and one’s personal religious views need to stay out of education,  but for the last 40 years education has been running full throttle to what we have today.  If the social experiment that we are currently experiencing continues it is only a matter of time before the public school system in the USA completely collapses and all kids attend private schools or even worse don’t go to school.
