Hickman Co. / FRA Scrimmage tonight

HC showed improvement, although the final of 20-6 wouldn't indicate that. HC's first unit on Defense provided a shutout, and FRA only gained a few first downs on them, mostly coming through the air. The offense showed signs of being powerful, as Scott Sowell ran off two long runs, the first to set up a Phillip Jenkins 5 yard run and the second he took in himself. Sowell also scored on a 1 yard run set up by a breakaway run by Marcus Grimes.

FRA is definetly a well coached team. They aren't extremely talented, but every player was a technique expert at his position, and offensively they will formation and shift you to death. Look for them to build back up as long as Pack, Ferguson, etc. will stay.

The real test for HC comes in two weeks, as HC travels to Marshall Co to rematch last year's 14-6 win for the Bulldogs. MC has circled this game in big red ink and wants revenge for their season opening (and Don thomas's debut) loss in 2007. Gone are Hightower and O'Neal, but speedy RB Justin Braden returns along with that giant DT MC has (I forget his name, but at 6'4 310, everybody will know his name by week 4).
