The Tennessean is doing a survey on our high school football coverage. If you are in the middle Tennessee area and would like to participate, please send your name and hometown to kprocter@tennessean.com.

Thanks,

Kevin Procter

Survey? Why do you need to do a survey?

The Banner has folded, and there is less and less sports coverage period in the Tennessean. And less and less high school sports coverage.

One cannot get all the scores any more in The Tennessean. If it wasn't for the TSSAA site and Coach T, a Middle Tennessean would have a difficult time keeping up with high school sports.

I followed the Tennessean's coverage on the web last year and was a little dissapointed in it. With their resources, they should realize how important in-depth coverage of high school football is in Tennessee. They could do a much better job. Now, if they want someone who has lived, breathed and wrote high school football for a few years, I am open for negotiations. Just playing around. But they should seriously open up their high school coverage full-force!

Add up the number of fans attending highschool games on any Friday night around middle Tennessee...that is WAY more than attend the Titan's games. Sure we're also Titan fans for the most part, but our local teams come first. Give your readers what they want, more highschool coverage. And, your football coverage is way better than basketball, which REALLY needs to be upgraded.

But Gannett has so much money and power in the newspaper world. Hard to find someone who doesn't care about selling out for big bucks. Someone comes in, establishes themselves, their staff works their backsides off to build a good product and then the owner decides to bail out for the big payday. I don't see any serious competition lasting in Nashville for The Tennessean.
