region 8AAA Houston wins for the 8th straight year

Houston High school the 2007 AAA state champions continue there dominance of the 8AAA region tournament. While Collierville beat them 295-298 in the district, the mustangs posted a 291 in the region match even incurring to penalty strokes by Cory Gaylord who still shot a 71. Houston scores, Gaylord 71, Nathan Johnson 72, Josh Bratcher 74, Cameron Thomas 74, Zan Kinney 82. The improvement in their team score from district came totally from Cory. He seems to be able to go as low as they need him too for them to win.

Collierville had the medalist in John Luke Tyner with a 68, Rj Druien 74, Dan Overhiem 75 and Alex Kuspiszewski 79.

296 would win alot of regions. These four are the individual qualifiers for the state.

 

 

On the girl's side Houston won for the 10th time in 12 years.

 

Natalie Mitchell 73, Mary Tunnell 75, Sarah Watkins 81, Sarah is a D-1 Univ. of Ark basketball commitment.

Sarah Hall of Germantown shot 81, Laura Leigh Buatt 86, Kelsey Will 96, both of collierville, and shebly Mitchell of Whitehaven shot 96 as individual qualifiers.

 

 

Houston appears to have an oppurtunity to win both titles, as with any competition lets tee it up and play.
