What dream world are you living in...C'wood wants this bad.....I say it will be a close game 21(C'wood) 14 (W'boro)

Lets be real here....No need to expect too much. C'wood is better than that and if you think the D will let W'boro score 35 you must be asleep.

There is no need to get upset, but the truth is the truth...Real MEN will be wearing GREEN! and the boys are the ones in black..This is not smack talk, I am just laying it on the line....

If for some reason we are having a bad night we will take it like men and hold our head up...BECAUSE WE HAVE TRUE PRIDE IN OUR MEN ON THE FIELD AND WE WILL SUPPORT OUR TEAM!

Let's stop all the smack talk and live in the real world...ok

the game was very enjoyable, lots of fun and interesting. Cold though. I did sit between two nice young ladies and the seating was pretty tight so I stayed reasonably warm despite my light jacket.

Collinwood got off to a horrible start with three big penalties, one that brought a huge pass play back, an interferrence that kept a cat drive alive and another big penalty on an int return (but they scored anyway on that one) Anyhow those big calls in the first half seemed to leave collinwood playing catchup all night. Im not saying those were three bad calls but they sure hurt just the same.

Waynesboro's offense is for real. They really blocked collinwood's linebackers. I wish collinwood would have passed more because their receivers ran free all night long but they did drop a couple of really key ones (but they caught a lot too)

It would be a shame if Collinwood missed the playoffs cause they have a good team that is getting better every game I see. I think they need to work on the linebacking but they played pretty well overall. I do think it would help to add one or two of their speedier players to the secondary as they got outran a couple of times late in the game. Faster guys can overcome mistakes with their quickness im thinking there.

It was a good coached, clean played game , I only recall one personal foul and it was just a stupid late hit out of bounds and nothing nasty.

well, I sure hope either CA or Moore loses cause collinwood is certainly one of the best teams in the region and I really think Waynesboro deserves their championship too

He did say that. But in his defense, it could be a matter of game film availability too. He'll get film of the Forrest/MTCS game but he won't get film of JB/McEwen until they play in round two. If the winner of the JB/McEwen game doesn't win their first round game then he'll already have film of the region 6 team. I'll say this though, it's a stretch to think he was think that way by the way he talked. It sounded like he was certain that WC would win round 1 and the JB/McEwen winner would also win in round 1. Definitely makes things a little spicy...I like it! Fun, Fun, Fun. This is what its all about!

I listened to the game and either WC has a potent offense or C'wood can't play D. Either way, WC should beat our 4 seed if they play focused. If not, it could spell trouble.

Oh, make no mistake about it, I love it all too! If he is from McEwen and wanted to see his old team play AND get a look at a POSSIBLE second round opponent, he might should have said so. That would have taken away from some bulletin board material. I wouldn't wanna give coach Shadowens and MTC or a very large Forrest team any extra motivation whatsoever. Wayne County appears to have a very strong offense, but I think it's defenses that step up when the heat is on. It will be interesting to see how it all plays out. WC could definitely pass on either. I'd spread them out from the opening horn if the WC QB is as legit as they say. I hear the Zion QB is better though.

i listened to the post game with wayne counties coach, and he sounded like he was more worried about the 2nd round than the first. they asked him about who hes gonna be playing, mtcs, or forrest, his reply was one of those, but im gonna go watch some jo byrns and mcewen tape cause thats who we'll be playing at home in the 2nd round.

Coach Rice will be at the MTCS and Forrest game tonight! Trust me that old coach don't over look anyone! He's worked way too hard for that! Coach Rice hates to talk on the radio and probably could use a refresher from his old high school english teacher. How about his two sons play tonight? Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also remember he is a McEwen High School graduate which he is very proud of.He has a miniature McEwen Warrior helmet on his desk in the coaches office. He never forgets were he is from and had two wonderful parents who raised him.His father was very tough on him as a kid and it carries over to his players. He cares so much for his players and treats all of them fair.Good luck in the playoffs to the Warriors and Wildcats!!!!!!!

I hear the Zion QB is better though.

im not sure if the zion qb is the 3rd best in reigon , collinwood qb is pretty good better than i was expecting

zion qb has put up good numbers aginst the lesser teams, around 15 ints i belive in the three games i know he had 5 ints aginst wc, and 5 aginst c'wood and im pretty sure mtp picked him 4 or 5 times and i look for ca to get him a bunch tonight

wayne counties offense played really well lastnight , im not sure how many tackles morgan, west had for the c'wood defense but it seemed like everyone was made by one of them.

any one have there tackle numbers ?

I heard the radio interview as well, and I even responded to the original post on this subject, but then deleted it. What I heard wasn't Coach Rice overlooking anyone, but him saying that he was going home to watch McEwen and Jo Byrns. I don't feel he was overlooking anyone. I see it as him simply stating that he was going home to spend the weekend with his family. I can see how that might be misunderstood by someone who didn't know he was from McEwen originally. Coach Rice isn't overlooking anyone or taking anything for granted. He's just going home to see his momma.

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
