The Grundy "Warriors"

First Murphy Fair tries to change Grundy's name in the playoff program last year, and now the Times Free Press tries to do the same in their preview of the season.

 

Ok boys and girls.......

 

All sports teams at Grundy County High School....(located in Coalmont for those of you who still want to say Tracy City) are named the Yellow Jackets. Even the football team. Just because Colquette came to the Mountain doesn't mean Grundy is changing it's nickname.

 

And for the record, Colquette was a Yellow Jacket before he ever was a Warrior. He played for and graduated from Grundy County.

Don't forget the boys from Pikeville they are the Warriors as well!
