I call it like I see it. I know a lot of sophomore parents who see it the same way.

I understand your point, and this isn't directed at you, but honestly though, who cares what the sophomore parents think? Parents always think their kids should play more, regardless of the score, the opponent, or the situation. Maybe they should realize that their kids might not be good enough, or might not work hard enough, to earn a lot of playing time. And maybe they should follow the examples of their kids, and put the team's success over their own ego (obviously not all kids feel this way, but I know that a lot do, and they all certainly should).

Well there are also juniors and seniors on the team that don't get playing time until the game is out of reach for the other team. I understand that parents want their kids to play but there are a lot of kids on a football team and upperclassmen should get to their chance play first.

Maybe--and maybe the coach's ego should not take precedence over the well-being of the kids who work thru summer camp and show up every day for practice and then don't get to see the field even when the team is up by 40.

It is my feeling--and only a feeling, I want to add--that the coaching staff is more worried about how the score will look in tomorrow's Tennessean than how the game benefitted their kids.

Sounds like you are not very fond of Ricky Bowers. I truly believe the Ensworth coaching staff couldn't care less about how there stats look in the paper. You do not need to attack a team at this level. Why do you dislike Ensworth so much?

You are welcome to your opinion. As you can see, I have mine.

I have no axe to grind. You seem awfully defensive.

like I wrote before, it's just downright amazing that EHS has this sort of depth in its second year of varsity football. I can't imagine another private school with so few students already having the wherewithal to "rest starters for the play-offs" and "get some younger guys some playing time," etc. I remember "back in the day" playing against the Ensworth Middle School team....They might have had 20-25 guys out for the team. And maybe half that number or less were legit players. Back then they really didn't seem to care that much about sports. But they certainly do now.

    • Yeah, but if he goes to Science Hill they are guaranteed at least a win over Kingsport and that's basically the NET Superbowl
    • I expect Sevier County might be pretty good, perhaps Mo West as well.     But I don't see either of them getting out of round 2.          The rest of the region gets smoked in round 1.            Except for those once-in-a-blue-moon anomaly years the NET big schools are pretty much the same every season.
    • Wanted to see if all of you would lift up Kyle James family in prayer. Kyle was one of the best wrestlers to ever come out of Soddy Daisy and as some of you know he lost his house a few weeks ago and now his family and friends mourns his passing. Not sure if any of you were around in early 2000’s when Kyle was wrestling at Soddy, but he was a 3 time state champ and a Fargo AA along with going to Colorado to train to make the Olympic team. That goal was never reached due to medical issues, but he was an amazing wrestler and his family is as good as gold. If you were around at that time and have any pictures of Kyle, please go onto Alexy Winesburgh FB page and post. Thanks, Doug Benton
    • My opinion the 8 teams will be-  Greenback, Wartburg, Gordonsville, Jo Byrns, Eagleville, Bruceton, Dresden, and South Fulton. Gordonsviile is probably the favorite but I wont say it will be an easy road. With the right draw any of the 8 could win it.
    • I understand Gibson Co. will be announced tomorrow with a familiar name. Not sure about So. Gibson.
