Sorry to interfere in a Central/Howard thread. I just wanted to speak about Coach Tarver and two of his assistants who attended the Polk/Central game last friday night. I had only read about in the papers and seen these men on the sidelines before, but I wanted to meet these men. Everybody talked about class on the Polk/Central thread last week, after I met and talked with these men, I witnessed what class is about. Just the demeanor of these men demanded respect. Everyone who has seen Howard play this year will see what a big difference these men have made. Good luck to both teams this week and congatulations on a great year.

Man IceMan must have been real good. Where are you playing now?

well thanks... i had a couple of offers chose the route of student instead... and i was alright.. good enough to make a slight difference in a 21-20 win last year... and as someone who lives about 3 minutes from howard now and have been by there a couple of friday nights... it won't be nearly as hard as going into Polk county and winning...

Central will be on the southside this time and you better bring Jordan Jackson if you plan on winning

it doesn't matter if they play this game at howard or in my dang back yard tmac...let go of that penalty crap you are hanging on to from last year...central had more penalties than howard did! your argument is ridiculous! just admit central was a better football team!

jordan jackson leaving the team hurt howards chances of winning...howard will be playing a tight knit TEAM now...these kids have been focused all year long....and this one won't be any different

    • I believe that was last year. I was interested in the Jones vs Baker comment, so I went back and looked at GC. I am not a fan of either nor am I a baseball guru. This looks like to me the duel was not close and if the errors would not have been made Eagleville would have won. I assume you are a little biased. I do think your mph for Jeffcoat and Baker must be from last year.  Baker-85 pitches 67 strikes. 5.2 innings, 5H, 1BB, 0ER and 7K's. 3 errors  Jones- 78 pitches 37 strikes. 4 innings, 2H, 5BB, 0ER and 1K. 1 error   Adams and the UH kid are really good as well. What about South Pitt and Oakdale? I heard they have some good ones.
    • I hate this for all the kids in the program and fans alike. I can't recall of anything like this before in my lifetime but I'm sure it isn't a first. After criminal investigations are complete and the TSSAA looks into this the program it will be facing Nuclear Winter for some time to come. It's always the innocent left behind that end up paying the price for something someone else has done. I'm sure the transfer portal will be very active in Clinton over the summer months. How could you find a good coach worth his salt that would take on a situation like this not knowing what will happen.
    • I’ve seen Jeffcoat in person twice and he was 84-87 both times and the one time I saw Baker he was low 80’s, he actually got out dueled by Jones from ER in that outing.
    • Pirate fans, thread is up on the baseball message board.
