Hendersonville@Hunter's Lane

Alright, final week of the season and it all comes down to this game. If Hendersonville win, they are region champs, regardless of the outcome of the Gallatin game. If they lose, they can pretty much be assured of 3rd place and no home playoff game. With that being said, I would have to think that Hendersonville will win this one. Hunter's Lane couldn't handle the surging Gallatin attack when they played, and Hendersonville found a way to. I think that will be the defining scene for this Hendersonville team this season, it was huge and showed that they can just find a way to win.

Certainly Hunter's Lane can't be overlooked, you don't get that many wins by being some pushover team, they bring it to Hville every year, and I know these Commandos are looking for redemption against the Warriors. Hville proved once again that even if you play a stout D, as they did in Gallatin and now will vs HL, they can find other ways to score. With the Hill interception return for a TD and the Yazzie punt return for a TD that was called back, Hville has proved they have a TON of ways to get the ball into the endzone.

My prediction:

HHS- 24

HLHS- 14

    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
