WHAT happened last night??....was shocked when I saw the scoreboard. Not knocking Mitchell AT ALL.....just thought the game would be closer.

The game was over by halftime. It was only 14-0 then, but the Haywood players had their heads hanging as they walked off the field. They couldn't really move the ball, but when they did, the drive ended in a turnover.

my bad CaBron...im not gonna say a score but i say haywood will pull out the W with revenge on their mind from last year! Mitchell is not as talented as last year and not as physical so i can see the Cats winning the slobberknocker. Im seeing Haywood/DL in the semis!!!!

Not as talented as last year? Are you freaking serious ? You can't be ! Last year, Mitchell offense consisted of a QB who scrambled alot and usually found a open WR downfield. This year Mitchell team is much more skillful than last year team. The Haywood score should have been more than what the final score showed. Mitchell left an additional 21 points on the field, in which they were inside the 10 three times and didn't score. The score should have been 48 - 6.

Alot of people wrote Mitchell off after starting 0 - 4, but didn't realize that those four losses were to 5A power Whitehaven, 4A power Melrose, 6A power Daphne, Alabama and 4A power Fairley. Those 4 losses did not come from just anybody.

Now I would love to match Mitchell up against anyone of those teams that beat them early in August and September and see what the outcome will be now.

    • It was not ACHS at all, they have zero reason to worry about Clinton.  It had to do with a kid (non football player)  that had a charge and appeared in front of the juvenile judge.  The judge saw that the kid was way behind credit wise for his grade and told him to reappear in a month with a plan to graduate.  When the kid reappeared he had more that twice the credits than one month before.  The judge called BS and contacted the school.  That is what started the investigation.  This involves multiple students, but to this point no athletes are involved.
    • I believe the Covington Chargers travel to Trenton Peabody for a scrimmage today? Anyone going to this? Curious how the Chargers will do.
    • Good ole Bradley Zulliger. He was a really good QB @ OR. Fun to watch.  Wore #15 and was like a mini Tebow, with the exception of being right handed. He could take a pounding and keep on ticking. Played with a collapsed lung against Powell that year. Tough as nails.
    • They should be pretty good in year two for Rang.  Replacing most of the offensive production losing Dozier, Hayward and Rembert , but they're are skill kids in place ready for their shot.  I know I say this every year, but the o line should show improvement after two years in Rang and Kevin Day's weight program.  I still would favor West over Plow and OR come November.  The Rebs will have to grow up a bunch between now and then, and will probably take some lumps along the way with that schedule.  But I predict come playoff time they will be ready.   One of their coaches half joked to me that they could go 5-5 regular season and win the state championship.  Ha ha.
