J.P. Prince out of Memphis White Station is going to be the #1 soph in the state by seasons end. He's 6'5 and still growing possess a 6'10 wingspan is left-handed and best of all he plays the point. He runs the floor block shots plays above the rim, in the passing lanes and averaged over 25 points 10 rebounds 10 assists and around 4 blocks for and undefeated freshman squad. Note the varsity squad at White Station was loaded and won the state title themselves. I'll put him up against any of the East Tennessee players ranked ahead of him and he didn't play AAU this summer, but he will be with the Memphis YOMCA next year.he top sophomore in the state resides in Memphis

I will not take anything from the kid @ White Station and the other kid mentioned. But before you make a statement like who is the best you should do your homework. Calvin Williams a real 6'7" tenth grader and is smooth as silk with the grades to match. So for now let just say THEY are the best. :D:D:D:D

He is one of the better players...I think the best basketball player in memphis is Matt Lea of ECS though...JB is about 6'4 not 6'5.

Its not hard to be considered a good player when you play in the division ECS plays. To say that the the best player in the city of Memphis is from that class is foolish... :)To say that the best player in the city of Memphis is from that class is foolish,,,

I THINK MR. PRINCE IS A FINE PLAYER AND DEFINETELY ONE OF THE TOP FIVE PLAYERS IN THE STATE IN HIS CLASS. i THINK HOWEVER THE BEST PLAYER IN HIS CLASS AND POSSIBLY THE ENTIRE STATE IS TYLER SMITH FROM GILES COUNTY. I HAVE HAD CALLS FROM ARIZONA,KENTUCKY,LOUISVILLE AND NUMEROUS OTHER HIGH DIVISION I SCHOOLS INQUIRING ABOUT THIS YOUNG MAN. I ALSO BELIEVE ANOTHER REALLY GOOD TENNESSEE SOPHOMORE IS JAMON GORDON FROM GLENCLIFF. I HAVE SMITH RATED AS THE NUMBER ONE SOPHOMORE IN THE STATE BY THE HOOP SCOOP.

Tyler Smith is the man , your hometown Memphis Tigers are recruiting him and if he does not go pro I think thats where he will wind up . He is best player in the state in any class . ;)

Though Memphis usually dominates the State's Top 10 prospect lists, in the class of 2005, Tyler Smith is clearly the top prospect at this point. Jamont Gordon would have to be the number two prospect at this point. In fact, this class is loaded with non-Memphis talent (though some great West Tn prospects are included), including Al Harris, Donnell Mayben, Reginald Delk, Richard Delk, Antonio Harris, Jonathon Adams, and Charles Little, just to name a few. This is a much different situation than say, the Memphis domination in Class of 2004, with the top 4 players all being from Memphis, and a few more potential Top 10.....

    • And can you tell me who those two quarterbacks were, and every kid that was put into college from Bearden is a Bearden kid? It’s kind of why they graduated from Bearden.   and I would definitely not consider ETSU “waste”…
    • Most of this is complete gibberish. But the one part I could decipher is putting kids in college. This coaching staff hasn’t put a single Bearden kid in college. They completed wasted one of the best WRs in East TN and have ruined two talented QBs. All because they’re in over their heads.
    • Well, I’d hope the new coaching staff thinks they are all that because they can always walk around the school, anytime they want, thinking that, especially for what they’ve done for the student athletes and the players, putting more kids in college in his first season than the old coaching staff did in numerous years combined, but we will just sweep over that because I know you don’t like facts. But trust me, nobody wanted Mr. Big britches, made the star player switch to quarterback, which is ultimately the reason he ended up transferring to play the position. He loved, but unfortunately, had to be at another school because Mr. Big Britches doesn’t like when a teenager knows more than him, but can’t expect much coming from a guy who used all class throwing pencils up into the ceiling and making fun of football kids who were failing class right to their face, and in front of numerous students, even projecting on the board most of the time.
    • After that first paragraph, I can see why you’re a TA and not a teacher. Have you made the move from South Knoxville to Bearden yet?    Maybe he left because he is an actual teacher and coach, and didn’t want to be associated with a group of foul mouthed middle school coaches who like to pretend they’re big time.
    • Yeah and the coach is gone. Whole bizarre situation here. We played them a couple of times at MTSU last few years. She was a player for sure.
