Good game. JC's strategy was obviously to hold the ball on offense and try to keep the score as low as possible and then make a push in the 4th. Worked in the first half but in the third CR ran a totally different offense at them with both posts working around the top of the key and Reed moving in low. Worked great and JC had no response. CR built the lead to 14 and maintained a 12 to 14 point lead going into the fourth at which point they slowed the offense and worked the clock. The Lady Buffaloes never lost their composure and lead the entire game after the first minute or so into the game. They were never threatened. Leonard was held to 7 points I believe which stymied the JC offense.

JC went very cold in 3rd quarter partly because of C'range defense only shot 2 of 14 in the 3rd quarter and numerous turnovers

but the game was won at the free throw line 17 to 6 but again thats the sign of a good team and a good coach but maybe we can get our stymied offense going and just maybe be more of a thteat next time. These type games happen sometimes because last year we beat you by 17 but I never considersd the lady buffaloes not to be a threat because they are a great team

I disagree with you on holding the ball. Both teams were patient on offense because of the other team's defense. Score very much like the scores of previous game--low scoring--again good defense. As for the 3rd quarter, JC's was not able to take care of the basketball. They had to many turnovers. CR's 3rd quarter offense only managed 9 points much like quarter 1 and 2. Does not warrant a no response comment.

CR has many offensive weapons, plays solid defense, takes care of the ball, solid coaching, and does a good job on the offensive and defensive backboards. I don't see any weak points. I would be very surprised if they do not run the table this year.

I thought that the game had everything of a great high school game. IMO it was one of the best called games that I have seen this year.

Great game by both teams. Tori Lowe lead all scores with 12 points. JC laid back

on her and she stepped up to score.

CR ... 10 ... 8 ... 9 ...18 ... Tot 45

JC ..... 7 ... 7 ... 4 ... 17 ... Tot 35

CR -- Lowe 12, Reed 10, Green 7, Phillips 7, Heady 7, Snow 2

JC -- Bowman 10, Leonard 9, Adkins 6, Warden 5, Stafford 4, Garland 1

From the Free Throw Line ( JC fouling late in 4th to try to get ball)

CR 17 (14 in 2nd half .. 12 in Q4)

JC . 6 (4 in 2nd half)

I have to agree, this was two of the best called games I have seen called all year long. JC just didn't have it last night. I was surprised at how many turnovers they had. Ofcourse , a lot of those turnovers can be credited to Clarkrange's defense.

Best of luck to both teams and two great coaches.

BTW, someone said Matthew Mitchell from U of KY was at the game?

Well, CR was up by four at the half and built that to a 14 point lead in the 3d and pretty much maintained that lead going into the fourth. I do in fact believe that JC was intentially trying to slow the pace and keep the score low as everyone who's watched CR knows they get a ton of points off of transition so you don't want to get into a race with them. A slow tempo favored JC so that is what they did in the first half by slowing down their offense. The only problem with that strategy is that when you get too far behind it's hard to suddenly race the tempo and pick up the pace. Anyway, good game which was well played.

Congratulations to the Clarkrange girls on a good game; you were the better team last night! To the JC girls: we will have another opportunity and remember ONE and DONE! You have to win when it really counts.

Brown knows the only way he can win against C.R. is to slow the tempo down and win at the end,he does not want to get in an up tempo game with the Lady Buffs.

Tori Lowe played very good tonight for Clarkrange.

She has obviously worked very hard on her free throws, it is completely changed from last year. It looks perfect and is paying off for the team. Now they have no one to single out at the end of the game. She also did a very good job of shooting in rhythm last night(as she has all year). Brown left her open and let her man roam to the post. Tori didn't force, but worked the ball and shot in rhythm. Definitely the difference maker. Good job Lady Buffaloes, keep plowing ahead and don't look back.
