Anyone have any info on the MJHS Bear Wrestling team? I heard they won the Region Duels at Hendersonville. If that is true what next. Who are the best wrestlers...are they a senior based team?

IMHO-They are a young team.

I think I was told they had 1 Senior. Their stud's are the Heavy who is ripped and good on his feet and their 103 who I think is a soph. They are solid from top to bottom. I would say they are only weak in one weight class. The Commandos best Wrestlers could not pin there grapplers and they did a good job keeping the matches close. The Bears 215 does not look very impressive physically but is a really good wrestler who works hard to win.

 

They are a better team than individuals. Of course it's all about match ups. They could place in the top 10 at Clarksville. I don't know if they can place in the top 10 traditional at Chattanooga this year but in the future they have a young enough team to make some noise.

no,,,it does not send them to Chattanooga,,,,,the duals are held in Clarkesville.

I've had the opportunity to watch them a couple of times this year. They are pretty solid from top to bottom. This is probably the strongest team Mt.Juliet has ever produced. Although, they had some pretty tough teams in the late 90's, led by Zach Daily.

No, you will see the "results" of what it takes. Go to BHS and witness a practice or two and you will see what it takes. You'll notice that a typical BC team beats ya in the 3rd period+ ...Tournaments and matches are only short "drills" of what goes on at the Bears den, at least that is what I have seen/experienced on a few occasions... Am I wrong Legman?

Yes, I have been guilty of an attitude on this board once or twice.

 

My point is just pointing out that being the top "Bear" doesn't come easy as I have watched and participated in practices all over the country. I have seen no workouts that exceed what happens there at Bradley day-in and day-out, although some of the orther top programs in our great state may come close - but we fans may never see the battle on the mat, i.e., D-1 vs. D-2. /sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />

 

Imagine... 5,000 fans coming down to UTC from Bradley Co + another 10,000 fans from all around the Metro X $10 + concessions (4,000 X $5) just to see a few teams in Red, Blue, and BC compete. Think of the possibilities,,, Hey Alan Jones... You out there?
