warmath came in as a freshman. To me that isn't a transfer.

She actually made the 2nd team all district, 8 district, as a freshman for freindship. She went to middle school for Southside, she did not transfer from any high school. They had one transfer from MJ, Megan Reed, a couple years ago, but she transferred back. She was a good player, but did not seem to make a big impact either way. From my observation, their players have come up through the school.

Funny how people forget this senior class of girls won the J.HALE TOURNEY in murfreesboro as eight graders. But one thing for sure they are playing as a team and more wins to come. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

This group of girls has been together since 5 and 6 grade bball. Yes warmath came a little later but we love her just the same . And that is fact. And if you will pay attention to some of the other programs in the district , who lose coaches for what ever reason coach teeter being there for a while has helped this team not transfers. Funny when your girls are beliving in a system and it works people cant take it. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

Actually I was referring to the whole school not just the girl's bball team

OK now Megan Read came to friendship as a freshman also and then transfered to mt. juliet for her junior year then back to friendship as a senior. She didn't play ball her senior year because of eligability.

I dont remember her. But i will tell you one thing ill take warmath any day over the other guards on any of the other teams. And yes i know the coachs think the young kid will take her place . She may have her spot on the court but we will really miss warmath in the comeing years. And we are going to miss k. vaughn also . Vaughn keeps this team together more than people give her CREDIT for .When things go bad they rally together but that is what a senior is suppose to do. And before anybody says anything about so you hate the young kid i dont .The coachs need to see she is NOT PERFECT and work on things to make her better not just give her a free ride like they have been doing. Just IMO /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

Warmath could have went to any school in the county since her mom teaches in the county. FCS was fortunate to get her she's not just a great basketball player, she's a great athlete. I just see people on here talking about how FCS gets all of these players and most people don't realize that most of these players were there at a very young age, that was what I was referring too earlier. I am glad to see these girls doing so well. Playing AAU ball has really helped this program also.

I don't get to worked up about where kids come from, you never see me on the private vs public board. Our team had a transfer, had to sit out the whole year, her whole jr. year, seemed silly to punish the girl. It would have helped having her, our lack of depth, but it probably would'nt have changed anything else, we did not go out and recruit her. There are a couple impressive players on your team beside Vaughn and Warmath. I think the Burroughs and Morrisett girls are very fine players, takes more than one or two. Sometimes, I think Friendship underachieves. They have a window of opportunity, but they need to find a way to quit losing the close ones against good teams. The young girl being mentioned, I have no clue, other than the four girls I mentioned and perhaps Hays, no one else made any kind of impression with me.

Actually, this class were 7th graders when they won that tournament, Warmath and Hay were not there and he didn't let 7th graders play, (told them they would get their chance to play as 8th graders). Therefore, they should have been really awesome last year, but I think most all (maybe all) of those 8th graders had quit by the time they were seniors. Although, none of this really matters now. This is the best FCS girls have been since Brown left. Their hard work is paying off.

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
