Johnson County is my pick to win it even if the possible matchup between the horns and devils was to happen and thats a big if. Then I dont see Unicoi beating them 3 strait times. Its a very tough task.

Class AA-District 1 Tournament to be held February 18-February 24 at Daniel Boone High School in Gray, TN

 

It appears the quarterfinal match ups in the D1-AA Tournament coming up this week will be:

 

#1 Unicoi Co. vs. #8 Chuckey Doak/West Greene

#2 Johnson Co. vs. #7 Chuckey Doak/West Greene

#3 South Greene vs. #6 Sullivan North

#4 Happy Valley vs. #5 Elizabethton

 

The #3/#6 and #4/#5 games should be worth the price of admission, as the #1/#8 and #2/#7 games look to be virtual locks. The #3 South Greene vs. #6 Sullivan North match up looks to be the game marked for upset alert. If the Raiders get hot, it could be one and done for the Rebels. The #4 Happy Valley vs. #5 Elizabethton game looks to be even, a push if you will, thus if Elizabethton wins I would not deem it an upset.

unicoi plays west greene and johnson county plays chuckey doak. Chuckey doak had the tie breaker and is the 7 seed.

i would agree with your assessments. i think that north could give south greene a good game. not sure that they can beat them though.

we beat unicoi(like the first time in 5 years) so does that make us 4th? even tho it doesn't matter we play HV anyway. Anybody knows?

If Elizabethton plays like they did last night, then they will be extremely tough to beat. They proved that they can beat anyone (even though it was a reeling UC team) However, losses to teams like South Greene and North proved that they are beatable by most anyone.

 

I am really looking forward to the tourney at boone. Should be quite a few excellent games.

#6 Sullivan North upsets #3 South Greene, 75-72, advancing to meet #2 Johnson Co. in the District Semi-Finals tomorrow at 8:30 pm, also qualifying to play in next weeks Region 1 Tournament with the victory. Go Raiders!
