Please stop the audio ads!

It appears that you have started using audio ads which can not be turned off. Please stop the use of the ads or at least allow them to be clicked off. It is annoying enough that I will stop coming to this site!!!

Have you considered buying a plus membership to offset the need to run ads on this site which is free to the vast majority of the users?

In the interim, my computer has this neat little function called "volume control"; perhaps you could check into it for your computer.

I run whatever ads I can in order to pay for the site. If I have an option I don't run audio ads but if I am not given an option by the company I have to run them. Same thing with popunders. With 61,700 free members and 400 paying members that is the reality.

I understand business is business and I'm surprised at the visitors vs paid members. Think PBS - NPR....I would think that an advertiser would be thrilled with the # of overall visitors. My complaint about the audio is that it was unexpected and I often have my volume turned up so when someone starts talking without me activating it I jump out of my skin. :0 And yes I have a volume control and I will be using it.

Do get me wrong I do like CoachT and I visit more often than I would like to admit. I would ask you to talk to the IP.Board people about adding a off button.

Curious...Do you have someone selling ads locally?

I have had but do not currently. The rates local companies are willing to pay are less than I can get from the online advertising companies but both are low. This is a one-man operation so selling ads that have to be changed often is not feasible.

    • The Girls Basketball team I am a part of played for a gold ball this season. One of the biggest differences in the sports is that there is no field prep/maintenance in basketball.   Our baseball is successful and play 30 games in the regular season as well. All of the teams dedicate A LOT of time in preparing for their next opponent.
    • Im pretty excited about the new rules that NFHS voted to adopt. Does anyone know if this will take place in Tennessee starting this year? I think I heard/read somewhere that the TSSAA bi-laws say they have to mirror what the NFHS does, and when the NFHS offered the current weight classes as options, TSSAA didn’t adopt them until NFHS made them official. Did NFHS make these changes official starting next season or will it be similar to the weight classes where TSSAA doesn’t change what they are doing until it is  an officially official part of the NFHS rule book? It’ll be interesting to see if it is rolled out for the new TSSAA Middle School season and I saw a post where the youth wrestling in TN was going to vote on adopting it as well.  I’ll pray for all the youth coaches that will have to shoulder the confusion from all those crazy #### parents who already think they know the rules more than everyone else  . Imagine the first time their kid is taken down and a 3 goes up on the scoreboard or their kid gets pinned with only one point of contact in the cylinder. Their heads might explode. i kid, I kid. Sort of. I’m surprised ride time was brought down with all the other changes. I know some argue that it promotes stalling on top, but its been an official scoring method in college forever, so I figure it must be doing something right. Do any of you think that’ll ever be implemented?
    • I understand I guess it depends on the school you are with and the time you want to put in.  It’s evident of the schools that don’t put in as much times.  I would say basketball players put in as much time as any sport in our school system and this is coming from a football town.  Bball is a longer season than other sports.
