Right now this is what the District Standings are:

1 Station Camp 4-0 100.00%

2 Portland 4-1 66.70%

3 White House 3-0 75.00%

4 Mt. Juliet Christian 3-1 50.00%

5 Merrol Hyde 2-3 40.00%

6 Friendship Christian 1-4 16.70%

7 Greenbrier 1-4 20.00%

8 Macon Co. 0-5 0.00%

Right now, Portland vs. White House will be a key matchup in determining the outcome for the tourney.

Portland's best bet this year is to make sure to pull off the win with WH so they can play Greenbrier and hopefully a team like MH in the second round. They need to hope they don't meet WH or SC in the second round though, because Portland is too young of a team to pull out a win against a more experienced WH team (and definitely against SC).

Well i agree, but portland definately wont see S.C. at all unless they get to the champ game.

Have some faith keeper, being young is a major disadvantage early in the season, but the young guys have played alot of soccer at this point. Look around the state and you will find parity, which is great. Any team on any given day. good luck in the post season.

what I love about young teams is they don't know they're supposed to lose. They go out and play every game with the confidence that is unparralled sometimes. Also, they improve faster than most teams since they have so much to learn. Young kids absorb everything you tell them and try their hardest to put it in to practice even if they don't understand it at first. So by the end of the season, you can't really consider them a young team anymore.

As for the district, SC will probably come out on top. The thing I've noticed about them is that they're inconsistent. That's not such a big deal though because even a bad game for them is an excellent game for anyone else. It's just wierd that they come out and beat portland 8-0 and then only beat WH 3-1.

WH is pulling things together and have started clicking at exactly the right time this season. They don't have a team that is as talented as years' past but they are still a threat. Having home field at district helps as well. Thursday will be a defining day for the district as WH takes on Portland

Portland is a young team that has played consistently through the season, but inconsistently during games. When they have things going, they are dominant. If not, things go downhill for them. If they can put a full game together, watch out for these guys

As for the rest of the district, any one team could be the underdog that gets to the final. The line that was drawn in the past between the clear winners and losers in this district is much less defined this year. It's gonna be interesting. That's for sure

The forecast is showing rain every day for the next 7 days. That means a couple of things:

1.) The Portland v. White House game will be played under wet conditions

2.) at least part of the district tournament will be muddy

Any thoughts on how this will affect either of these situations?

best team will win..Soccer has morfed closer to golf. Soccer games are

cancelled all the time. Football games are played come heck or high-water. Why is this?
