Thats pretty tough for both the girls and boys teams. But especially for the girls just a couple of weeks from the season. Going to be tough to find both a Head Coach and an Assistant Coach on such short notice.

 

 

 

 

I heard the comment from the movie Jerry Maguire was used, " Show Me the Money"! And so they did....

I have to agree with akula, Coach Norwood is a competitor and plays to win, and I believe this decision was probably a very tough one for him. He loved coaching at Seymour and leaving had to be a hard decision for him. Whatever the reason I know Bobby will do well at Sevier Co, and I know Seymour will find the right coach and continue to be a very competitive team. I can only wish good luck and success to both Sevier Co and Seymour.

We can all play the peace, love, and happiness thing back and forth all day long. But, the real issue at hand is coach Norwood left riding the coat tails of our girls most successful season ever to get this (what he thinks) is the end all be all soccer job. Explaining in a short meeting to his players what he hasn't gotten from the administration at Seymour. He owes these girls an appology they are the ones getting cheated. One thing that is sure, I hope that Purple job lasts him till retirement because the way he went out burning every bridge from Seymour to Sevier County just might come back to bite. That Purple bunch is kinda like that Orange and White bunch in Ktown. You win or your out! Good luck COACH!

Im not sure where semofan17 is getting this "incredible" information, but i can tell you this from personal knowledge, Coach Norwood is not just getting "shown the money" nor is he leaving the school just because of issues with the administration. Coach Norwood explained very clearly to his players that the combination of facilities, administration, and community support all played a very large role in his decision. Anyone that knows bobby and had talked to him over the past few weeks while he was mulling over this decision, would know that it wasn't one he took very lightly. So before you get on here to slam a coach for making a professional decision, you might want to put yourself in his shoes. Was he supposed to stay at seymour forever?? It's never easy to leave kids that you care deeply about. All I can say is that Bobby left the programs with the ability and talent to succeed and dont think for a minute that he wont be pulling for them when its time for season to start.

Guys, It is what it is. You had to know that going to a rival school that close, after the season we had last year would stir up some mixed feelings. Its pretty tough that you both left at the same time right before season starts. That being said, I can't blame a guy for trying to better his situation for his family and career. I'm sure we will have another good coach by the start of the season and all will go well. The most important thing is that the kids have the chance to play and we don't do anything to deprive them of that. Wish you guys well in your new location, hope it all works the way you want it to. This is my daughters senior year and I hope she can go out with a great year. Good luck to all the players.

Should make for an interesting game this fall!!!!! GO SEYMOUR!

Staying at seymour forever?? You fought for that position, you had people calling you around doing you favors to get head coach position. when you only stay for one season?? You told your teams that you wanted to change the face of soccer at Seymour and you said you accomplished what you wanted just because you took the girls to state. You can't change the pogram in one season. Bobby knew coming into this that our space was limited and that our booster club isn't paying you.... Running away from a harder schedule too eh?

I think that it is time to stop bashing Coach Norwood! Anyone who knows him knows that he is a great man. The reason people are so upset that he left Seymour is due to that fact, HE IS A GREAT MAN! People never complain when a coach they hate leaves.

This is an opportunity for Coach Norwood to better himself with a new challenge. When a coach leaves one place to go to another, it is a chance for them to instill thier traditions and start over fresh.

I think the World of the Seymour Girls and their parents. They are great people. I know that when the dust settles that everyone will look past their own agendas and realize that a man made him self better, and that is what any parent would want their child to do.

I wish Seymour all the best and I wish Coach Norwood and Sevier County all the best.

Lets stop the bashing of a great person who is making himself better, and start focusing on the season that is close.

      And can you tell me who those two quarterbacks were, and every kid that was put into college from Bearden is a Bearden kid? It’s kind of why they graduated from Bearden.   and I would definitely not consider ETSU “waste”…

      Most of this is complete gibberish. But the one part I could decipher is putting kids in college. This coaching staff hasn’t put a single Bearden kid in college. They completed wasted one of the best WRs in East TN and have ruined two talented QBs. All because they’re in over their heads.

      Well, I’d hope the new coaching staff thinks they are all that because they can always walk around the school, anytime they want, thinking that, especially for what they’ve done for the student athletes and the players, putting more kids in college in his first season than the old coaching staff did in numerous years combined, but we will just sweep over that because I know you don’t like facts. But trust me, nobody wanted Mr. Big britches, made the star player switch to quarterback, which is ultimately the reason he ended up transferring to play the position. He loved, but unfortunately, had to be at another school because Mr. Big Britches doesn’t like when a teenager knows more than him, but can’t expect much coming from a guy who used all class throwing pencils up into the ceiling and making fun of football kids who were failing class right to their face, and in front of numerous students, even projecting on the board most of the time.

      After that first paragraph, I can see why you’re a TA and not a teacher. Have you made the move from South Knoxville to Bearden yet?    Maybe he left because he is an actual teacher and coach, and didn’t want to be associated with a group of foul mouthed middle school coaches who like to pretend they’re big time.

      Yeah and the coach is gone. Whole bizarre situation here. We played them a couple of times at MTSU last few years. She was a player for sure.
