Anyone know how the young lady from St. Agnes who broke her leg badly at Katie Hunter is doing?

Thanks for asking, but I have to say she didn't break her leg, someone else did and it

was totally uncalled for. Now I got that off my chest.

She is doing well and her name is Suzanne Capocaccia and is a 10th grader. The doctor recommended not doing surgery and putting in rods since she is still growing. It was broken on Friday, they brought her home that night, but did not set it until Tuesday(Labor Day). She is in a full cast for six weeks and in for a very tough six months plus to try and recover. She is a great girl and outstanding soccer player. Her attitude is good and she will work as hard as any injured player to get back on the field.

Another sad thing is missing this high school season as she was on varsity with her two sisters. Caroline is a senior and Suzanne will miss that. Caroline was injured last year and they only had a few minutes of playing time then. Everyone prays she will be on the field next fall and if anyone can, she will. I am sure she would welcome well wishes on facebook.

Thanks Canes....The Coach Schermerhorn met us in the hotel parking lot and let us know...unfortunately, it is not raining now, but I heard the fields got clobbered this morning...

spydr- Didn't you mean the ND parent weight average went down now with DONC gone ? (Sorry DonC...us vertically challenged have limited chances to take jabs at others) :D

I live across from the field, some of my pool is likely on the field after this morning's weather.

Well, now that you have a little time, if you needed any extra gear, there is a very well appointed SoccerUSA at the Carraige Crossing Mall. That is off the Houston Levy exit on the Nonconnah. There is also a Sports Authority across the street.

Was able to get a great Huey's burger and beer in Cordova, but just couldn't get the toothpick in the ceiling despite four attempts ! Looking to try the "Flying Saucer" tomorrow, if the schedule/wife allows.... :o

Those Huey's burgers are awesome....did you get onion rings? You have to try more than 4 times for the toothpick trick......got to keep trying until you get it! Glad you are enjoying some local tastes....

    • A lot of people don’t realize how valuable JMO was. QB, safety, punter and holder on pat’s. Kid did it all. I fully believe if he was healthy Dburg would have made it to the ship last year.
    • If Dyersburg quarterback who is also starting safety hadn’t got hurt it would of another blowout
    • For perspective the county school I’m associated and graduated from only has 7,600 people in the entire county with a median age of roughly 47. That’s not very many 14-18 year olds to choose from. I think the football team had 25-28 kids or around there.  On the other hand Shelby County has 916,000+ with a median age of 36. This isn’t just about Shelby county, but all the big ones with huge economic advantages!  An urban/rural split would benefit tons of smaller schools that have to compete with counties with 120x the amount of people. Especially the ones who can pick and choose their players from a pool like that!   I also agree with Pujo about charter and magnets and they will eventually be phased into the private divisions because it is obviously an advantage plus all the funding! Add that county schools can’t go recruit outside of their county like charters and magnets!
    • They should be starting next week and go from there.  They never do Spring Practice in April
