Greeneville was in the Barry Redmond division....I would guess that they would be champion in that division...not sure how the rest of the division came out.

 

Greeneville was one of the teams that may should have been in the Katie Hunter division while there were some teams in the Katie Hunter division that may should have been in the Barry Redmond division.

Powell's score for WB HS game was actually 10-1, with everyone on JV playing as well. This was a very good weekend for our girls with a 2-1-1 record, only loss in tournament a 2-1 game with Greenville that actually could have been a tie, had we not missed our PK and they made theirs. The Henry Co tie 1-1 should have been a win, just some unfortunate mis-communication caused the tying goal late. The 3-0 win against Arlington was a solid game by whole team. The girls played very hard given 4 Starters were out due to the flu, and our losing one of our best defenders in the WB HS game to a knee injury. Congrats to all the winners, as this was a very interesting and enlightening weekend of soccer. Between this weekend and having watched the Bearden Tournament, I believe there is alot more parity than in some previous years. Really believe there could be some big surprises before the season is over.

Does ANYONE know the website for the Lady Raiders Inaugural Invitation Soccer Tourney supposed to b in Cleveland TN Sept 25-27??

It is an upper/lower division. I don't know if the tournament bases the division on past game history or on requests by the teams. I'm also not sure why games between divisions re scheduled and then have those games count in standings for each division.

 

Regardless, Briarcrest had some really good AAA teams to play which was great to get the season kicked off. With injuries, sickness, and only playing one forward in some of the games....pretty happy with the results! At times, we had six freshmen on the field which was great experience for those girls.

Greeneville in previous years played in the Katie Hunter Division with the stronger D1 AAA and D2 teams. Why were they moved to the weaker Barry Redmond division this year? Was it because they moved down to AA? They certainly are good enough to hang with the big dogs as seen in their game vs Farragut.

Unbelievable student support for Oak Ridge! I have never seen anything like it. They really enjoy girls soccer.
