Mustangs got a much needed wake up call last week and now realize a higher level of play is needed to play in this 4A division. We have the horses to step up BUT must eliminate the miscues and mistakes. To many drives ended with a turnover and it can't happen anymore.Overton is tough, fast and determined and we must take them out of their game early. We also need FAST blocking on the trap play for Officer to have success. We seemed to tire last week and our central blocking was weak. Our secondary can't bail out the linebackers so tackles need to be at the line of scrimmage.Swarming to the tackle will be at a premium. No easy games until late in the season so keep up the conditioning! We will win this game with an A game effort!

My prediction is that the game will be very close. Both teams realize that it is still early and the season doesn't hinge on this game; moreover, it will be a great football game. The defenses will be very physical but as always the team who make the least mistakes wins. Overton does have big play ability and will have to use it in this games. Prediction: 21-14 Overton.

Launcher is launching bird droppings instead of material based in fact. The game will be tough but no tougher than Giles,Mitchel,or Knowville(open zoning and therefore recruiting)Fulton. We have seen and overcome the bigg boys before.Ask Alcoa opponents about the level of play in the lower divisions. We need to stick to our bread and butter but execute better.Lipscomb fans travel(3 miles in this case)well and there's going to be some loud jug shakin goin on. :popcorneater: Friday night will be fun and I here the HOT SIGN will be on late for some celebration.

Im not sure that guy is talking about the Overt

they have never met, so i dont know where you got that info. ive seen overton play, they will have too much power and speed in the backfield. they have a much better running game than maplewood. ask FR, they just beat BA btw

He's talking about the Giles County Bobcats who were in Lipscombs region the past few years.

    • It's time to play everybody's favorite game of how is this season going to go. I'll undertake the fool's errand of a prediction. Encourage the region 2 fans to do the same. Cloudland: Top until they get beat always seem to perform year in year out with a small changing roster. Cosby, North Greene: These two could finish in either order they didn't have big senior classes. Lots of young guys got experience last season and most of their best athletes are upperclassmen it'll depend on coaching and if the kids can put it all together.  Jellico, Unaka: Like the two above could finish in either spot both of them lost key pieces to graduation. It'll depend on how returners play and if young guys can fill shoes.  Hancock: Small roster size devastated by a big senior class that took a lot of the experience and athleticism with them.
    • Confident that Marion, Moore, and Gordonsville are losses.  7-3 would be a nice turnaround.  5-5, 4-6, 3-7, etc. and it's a disappointment
    • Win the Watertown game, you can start 4-0. Lose it and you might be anywhere from 0-4 to 3-1.
