For so many years no one has took Morgan County serious i'm not even from there but they have a few stacked teams and some teams to watch out for.

 

Wartburg- Is always one of the best teams and after getting one of the best middle school players in the state they will build around it they also got a talented Junior class. They should be the best team in 2009-2010.

 

Oakdale- Who takes them serious? No one till now the new coach Jt Hicks will help. They also have a talented classes. Dj Currier and Josh Kilby are the leaders of tis teams. They will be fun to watch also other players Tee Stimez and Tim Stewart. They will no longer be a team that everyone thinks 'W'.

 

Sunbright-Also is a good team with Jessie England and company stepping up for Sunbright they will be a team to be wreckened with down the road. :motorbike:

I agree with some of what you say...

 

Wartburg has a great coach and will only continue to get better. The addition of Fountain (6'6" PF) will make them a force at the single A level. This kid is the real deal. He has size, athletecism, and good basketball skills that are developed beyond his years. He could be the next big thing.

 

Oakdale has and probably always will be looked at as a doormat. Until they actually win something I don't think anyone will nor should give them any credit. Hicks was a winner at the middle school level. But their is a big difference between middle school and high school no matter where you're at. He's a great guy and I wish him the best.

 

Sunbright had a great middle school team 2 years ago. If I'm not mistaken they won their district that year. If those players can continue to develop then they could be a good single A squad in the future.

The fountain kid is a good player but Wartburg's team evolves around Cody Goodman and Zach Shannon with out them they would be a descent team in the district but with the 2 playing at their best watch out cause Wartburg will b hard 2 beat by ANY single A team in the state.. Watch out 4 the dawgs makin a run at the state title cause they will have the talent and the coach 2 make a great run at it..If they just stick together and play as a team

I'll be completely honest with you guys.. i dont think any team in morgan county will be any good this year... Wartburg lost Way to much and shannon and goodman aren't enough to even win the district more less the state?? thats crazy volfan.. Oakdale will surprise a few teams.. But all 3 teams will be trailing Oneida and Oz in the district talent-wise.. Jellico also steps into the district they will be the best team wait and see.. Oz and Jellico will play for the championship in our district.. Wesley Rather for Oz is a beast not to mention Tyler Harper 6'5 probably 300 lbs. . . Morgan County is down this year.

      Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!

      I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
