How good is Bledsoe this year? Gordonsville plays them in the Cannon Co. Thanksgiving Classic.

Bledsoe Looked pretty good today at there first scrimmage. They played nice team ball. Would of killed Signal Mountain If the would have kept first or second team in, but Signal did not not have all of there players because of football. Bledsoe should be alot better than last year.

Cannon defeated Bledsoe girls and boys handily. We play Dekalb County this Friday at home.

Boys lost by 20, Harvey way off his normal game(football), not had the practice time. Brown gave you what you are going to get all year Effort and HUSTLE, scored about 16. Worthington is much better than he showed he is a freshman in his first high school game at home, he will improve. Colvard looked good had 6 or 8 points. Pearson must get control of fouls, too out of control on defense. Pearson's replacement Smith also fouled out but plays very well to be the undersized post player that he is, 3 of his 5 fouls were charges, like pearson must control fouls, after these two post players we are thin at the position. Boring and Campbell coming off the bench gave pretty good minutes, but boring must cut down on the turnovers, Campbell must drive and dish/shoot more.

Sequatchie 70-56 over Polk County Monday night. Sequatchie's Cartwright started slowly, didn't score in the first and was 1-6 FG, finished 50 percent and had 33 points, 8 rebounds, 8 steals. Tyler Kilgore scored 18, Mitch Cordell had a good game inside with 12 points, 7 rebounds. Sequatchie led by just 3 early in the fourth but pulled away in the last few minutes. Polk looks to be improved, even from the summer months.

Sequatchie is looking strong at 4-2 winning their last 4 games. Young Cartwright seems to be leading this team successfully. Kilgore and Cordell are right behind him.

Bledsoe beat DeKalb and York both of which are in this region. May benefit them past district tournament.

Grundy 1-1 and only has 2 games under their belt. Could be an early favorite.

CCS is 1-1 according to their schedule on CoachT. Were successful last year.

Notre Dame young talent maybe a Cinderella team

Sequatchie lost at Howard 77-56 Tuesday night. It was a lot better game than that score indicates-Howard led 37-24 at the half, 51-40 after three, never could break it open. Sequatchie got it to 51-43 early in the fourth but Howard countered with a three, a field goal plus the free throw, another 3, and a 2 all over the next couple of minutes and led comfortably the rest of the way. Still there were a lot of good things for Sequatchie during the game except for the fourth. Playing that group is so tiring on both ends and it seemed to show late. Every remaining game is tough but that's probably the best team they'll play all year so it shows what they can do from here on. Cartwright scored 18 for Sequatchie, Cordell had 16, Derek Smith 13.

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
