White Co gets their first win and are playoff bound!

White Co goes 1-9, winning 21-14 tonight over Cumberland Co and makes the playoff.

A team that is outscored 38-12 on average and goes 0-9 before getting a win goes to the playoffs.

Wow....

There is no excuse for this to happen.

so how does a 1-9 team make the playoffs were there only 3 teams in the district and the top 2 advance?

http://www.tssaa.org/schdir/regionalstandings.cfm

In District 6 "5A--The team that finishes the highest in the final district standings becomes playoff eligible. If the two 5A schools finish 1st and 2nd in the final district standings both become playoff eligible."

Standings:

Cookeville (6A) 4-0, 7-3

Coffee Co (6A) 3-1, 3-7

Warren Co (6A) 2-2, 4-6

White Co (5A) 1-3, 1-9

Cumberland Co (5A) 0-4, 2-8

White Co finishes the highest in (5A) in their district.

Understand? Clear as mud? LOL!

A better example of how this makes no sense is Brighton in 6A - they make the playoffs yet their record against 6A teams this is - get this - 0-1 thats right, 0 wins, 1 loss against 6A teams for the year.

and will be seeded very high too. They would be seeded above Oakland, can you believe this? I do hope they split us up (OHS, RHS, BHS) gives us all a better chance really

    • It is what it is. Sorry DFL.
    • One of the biggest loosing teams in Mid-State are the Macon County Tigerettes. I have noticed that the roster is smaller than in the years past. All the senior's have quit. We have a great group of Jr High players coming up. I sure hope they don't loose them, like they have lost so many others this year. With this young group of girls coming up, a weaker district, they should have no problem going to State.
    • It was updated this season, because I did it.  Linder is the school's all-time leading rusher at 5,156 yards with 2,436 of those coming in 2014.
    • Oh, I’m sure you did. Maybe you heard just a rumor, but considering we have a football practice field and a soccer field that’s frequently used for lacrosse games and practices, I highly doubt it. Let me change that. I know for a fact that didn’t happen.   Glad you finally stopped attacking a bunch of high school students, but still obsessed with the coaching staff for some unknown reason, even though you could name more than three (at most) coaches without looking it up. But now come up with something else.
    • You really mean the Price twin boys and Lyin Larry.
