hey reddevil 44 has lk left for the all star game yet? goodluck to him i hope he does well in it.

Yes, they had a bus pick him and several other players up from the Nashville area at LP Field Tuesday night. Talked to him last night and everything is going well and he is enjoying the experience. He doesn't get to excited about much but he was about this opportunity.

What's the date and time of the game and what channel will it be on?

The game is this Sat. at 11:00 am Central. I don't know the stations carrying the game statewide but it will be televised in the Nashville area on channel 30.

How many practices do they have before the game?

How many practices do they have before the game?

2 on Wednesday, 1 on Thursday, and 2 on Friday

Just curious, but are the players asked if they want to be in the game or do they apply/tryout?

All I know is that "they" send nomination forms to all the coaches and the coaches nominate players. From there, I have no clue who actually compiles the nominations and makes the selections.

Roy I think that boy never stopped lifting those weights so he should be ready for next year. I am not playing with you either. When Murphy gives you his new book for next year you'll see that the Adkins boy won the job. And yes he is the coaches son. Let me tell you about this boy...he has a strong arm and can run pretty good. He was a sophomore this year and probably the youngest QB JB has started in quite some time. He played real good for a sophomore but also showed that he was a sophomore at times. He will get a lot better if he works hard and realizes his potential both as a leader and football player. He threw for a little over 1,000 yards this year with 12 TDs and 4 Int.s. He will need some receivers to step up next year but I like our young receivers. Our receivers are good and fast but I think they'll need a little stickem on their hands early on. One receiver we have can run the 50 yard dash real fast. You just wait and see Roy, Murphy will tell you all about the "Devils In The '10" in his new book. Hey let me ask you a question...how does this website I created look?

Not sure you can say he won the job, seems the backup was the quarterback in the biggest game of the regiion and played very well and from all indications could have won the job if given the opportunity.

Players having to compete to keep their position will keep complacency at bay. When a player knows he has somebody that could truly get him benched,he will usually take it up a level....that goes for any position, not just QB

I thought CC did a really fine job in the East Robertson game. :roflol:

i just got done watching the east and west all star game and i am wondering why lk only got to play like 2 plays? thats really dumb in my opinion. its an all star game you should let everyone play and see what they can do and i bet this kid could have done alot.

Lk fell victim to 2 of the "smallball" rules when competing in All-Star games with all classifications, no respect and no opportunities. We knew when they had him listed as a safety on the roster that this was how it was going to be.

Other than the game itself, Lk had a great time and it was a tremendous expierence for him. He was honored to be selected and got to hand out with some good young men.

    • Hmmmmmm doe dee doe doe……sounds like they are leaving Geenback faster than the lawnmower will go in fifth gear.  Hmmmm….. you can bet the lawnmower on that.
    • West looked solid...excited to see this young group excel
    • When you have a school that right at 200 kids only half are going to be male and to get 25% of them to come out for football is a very hard task. Take away an 8th grade syatem and your you have another hill to climb up. If 5 kids are actually leaving your not going to have enough for practice. Your only chances for wins would be against the weakest of weak teams. At one time Greenback had kids coming across the wall like the Mexican Border and now their leaving town before sundown. A hugh mistake was made on not hiring Ryan back because of his ties to the community and his ability to bring in the right kids, not run them off. The last coach failed because he wasn't one of community so they go out and do it again. I'm sure Coach Clemmer is a good person because I do know people that do like him but he is caught in the middle of a fan base that will not support him no matter what and it could lead to a disaster if that many kids are leaving the program. The person that caused all of this mess has no business on the school board and needs to stick with hiding in the bushes giving out speeding tickets to out of towners coming through.
    • My outsider looking in perspective is Oliver Springs, Coalfield, Rockwood, and Harriman: fill out the top 4 good teams that beat up on the bottom and will all be in a good place to win in the 1st round with one team maybe making it farther. Midway: funnily enough in the middle an alright team that can beat the teams below them but not the top 4 misses the playoffs but still has a decent record. Oakdale, Greenback, Sunbright: round out the bottom each team has its problems and with a rough region and challenging non-conference records may not be pretty. Oakdale graduated lots of talent and experience, Greenback is in all sorts of internal turmoil with their new coach, and Sunbright small roster tough region not tons of Fb played. (Teams could be rearranged with other teams in their groups but this is how I see them finishing)
    • Kids quitting to focus on one sport could be a worry but multi-sport athletes transferring out would damage more than just football so I think the people who made this decision could find out they are going to get burned in multiple ways.
