Fairview has a much improved football team. Their offensive and defensive lines were much better than last year. Their only problem seems to be that they are fairly one dimensional, if you can stop Aaron Cothran, you can hold them in check.

Cothran is a fantastic back with good speed and great effort. He is all that he has been cracked up to be. Cothran had 28 carries for 147 yards against the Panthers.

Lewis County had 357 yards rushing compared to Fairview's 138. Panthers totalled 398 yards to the Jacket's 199.

Lewis County was led by David Sharp with 115 yards on 12 carries, Ellis Dailey with 109 on 13, Eric Mcknight 9 for 69 and Kevin Skelton 7 for 43. Score was 14-0 at halftime and Panthers played it close to the vest in the second half in the muddy, soaking conditions.

Fairview has a team capable of making some noise in the playoffs and we wish them continued success during the remainder of the season.

It was a great game between two great teams.Best QB in the region against the best back. Both teams had turnovers but The Jackets had a few costly more. This game was truly hard nose football between two great teams, somebody had to lose.Good luck to Lewis County and I hope the Jackets get back on track, for if they do the playoffs will be sweet..........Go Jackets!!
