Gallatin Greenwave Invitational this spring...

I am trying to see who or how many would be interested in attending an invitational here at Gallatin High School this spring. I am taking over as new head boys track coach and was trying to get an invitational going without stepping on toes. The dates that I have figured might work, without interfering with others, are either March 20 or March 27. I think a low entry fee might get more involved, especially being the first time for the event. Other dates are possible as well. If you are interested, please contact me at Greenwavecoachking@gmail.com for info. Like I said, just trying to get an invitational going on here and looking forward to see who would want to attend.

Thanks,

Coach Anthony King

Thanks. Lets plan on March 20th, and any teams interested on here can email me or post on here. When I compile a decent sized list, I will email it to you. This will allow me to go ahead and begin the planning process. What I will do is start spreading the news around here, and I know most local teams will join. I love the fact that distant teams are interested. Hope this works out and is a great turnout!

    • Yes this process is moving slower than I would have expected
    • also was told coady auston applied, he served as defensive coordinator for greenfield under don pitt several years ago before going to Obion county
    • TSSAA restrictions for hiring non-faculty coaches have been removed for over a year at this point. In the past a non-faculty person had to be "grandfathered" by being an assistant coach for five years, being fingerprinted, and having a background check run per TSSAA rules... since those were rescinded, the board of directors for the school district are responsible for any/all restrictions on hiring non-faculty personnel. I guess what I'm saying to you is that if you really wanted what you posted, it's already possible as long as your local BOE will allow for it.
    • stop it, rlh. you’re gonna get me all misty eyed and sentimental.    i see seven fairly regularly. ….but slim shady, that’s like spotting bigfoot on main street. you just hope he doesn’t spot you.
    • Are you trying to say you didn't find Seven and ShadySlim going at it?
