Here are my predictions for Weight Class Winners by weight class at the State Tournament...

Region 3 -- 6 champions

Region 5 -- 5 champions

Region 6 -- 2 champions

Region 4 -- possiblity of 1 champion (Lewis)

Region 7 -- possiblity of 1 champion (Shepherd)

Based soley on that, Region 3 would be tops soley off the backs of Bradley Central and Greenback. Region 5 as a WHOLE may be better due to the strong top-tier wrestlers brought by Cookeville, Mt. Juliet, Tullahoma, Blackman, Warren County, and Siegel (all with potential state winners).

Are you overlooking Cleveland, or meaning Bradley County to cover Central, Walker Valley and Cleveland?

Yes--my bad for overlooking Cleveland (Marvin Lopez) and Walker Valley--although Simpson will have Cameron Croy in Round 2...and Dylan Mills will see Hunter Allen in Round 2 as well as Tyler Dailey (Greenback) vs. Taylor Bain in Round 2. I also made a mistake at 125--thought Soddy Daisy was Region 3...my bad...so the prediction should be 6 winners for Region 3.

My predictions for finals matchups with Region in parentheses....

103 Brunner (R5) vs. Oliver (R3)

112 Thomas (R6) vs. Maxwell (R2)

119 Hames (R3) vs. Boone (R4)

125 Lewis (R4) vs. Shepherd (R7)

130 Lopez (R3) vs. Seaman (R5)

135 Penson (R8) vs. Herron (R3)

140 Herold (R1) vs. Colbaugh (R3)

145 Cox (R6) vs. Miller (R3)

152 Aguilar (R3) vs. Lilley (R8)

160 Colbert (R6) vs. E. Henry (R5)

171 Proctor (R5) vs. Saunders (R5)

189 Kennedy (R5) vs. Salada (R5)

215 Croy (R6) vs. Bolton (R3)

285 Allen (R5) vs. Bain (R5)

So in finals (just my predictions): Region 5 (9), Region 3 (8), Region 6 (4), Region 8 (2), Region 4 (2), Region 2 (1), Region 7 (1), Region 1 (1)

    • If it was anyone but #8 I would agree with you. Theirs a couple people on that team that probably would. Not him. And I who was standing on the 1st base line fence saw clearly that the boys foot was covering more than half the bag.
    • If y’all lose to Farragut something awful has happened.
    • Get him to Bearden ASAP! Or anywhere, Karns hs is in rough shape, probably not getting out of it anytime soon.
    • I'm not a Powell grad.  I am a Bearden grad.   My son and daughter are Powell grads.   I did radio play by play for Powell, my last year was 2013. I also did radio play by play for South Doyle, and my last gig was at Maryville before I retired.   My oldest grandson plays in the Karns Middle program, so I see more Karns games than I do Powell these days.  I've been to 3 Powell games since 2013.   I don't have any ties to Powell, haven't since 2013.   No "y'all" there.    And the kid you are talking about does have a very good arm, but he's not the QB that Deuce Rogers is.  Rogers is a legit dual threat guy.  The younger kid now at Clinton, or about to be at Clinton, isn't the dual threat that Rogers is.
