Sportmanship with the Fan

I have to tell you. I have been to alot of basketball games all across this country and I have to tell you the worst fan I have ever been around are the fans of Scotts Hill. No school should have to endure the unsportmanship like conduct that you all bring to the game. Would you want your child to have to endure the disrespect that is being betrayed by the school they represent.

When it all said and done we all need to be more sportman like in our conduct no matter where we are and who we play. Its just a game and if the basketball players and the coaches are to have good sportman like conduct. Then we as the fan should do it as well. Tone down you suck chants, etc... and use something else more better to say if you are trying to say something against another team. I rather you do like I seen at one school all had newspapers and turned their backs when a they introduce the visiting team.

Be respectful to all people. We are teaching our children bad behavior and we wonder why they are in trouble.

I enjoy the youthful exuberance by most school's students, but I don't like hearing "you suck" chants or anything disrespectful or demeaning. That's where - in my opinion - the school faculty or administrators of those type students need to step in put a stop to it. What's even sadder is to hear parents/adults saying those things.

I can't believe that our "sportsmanship" as everyone is talking about is still being talked about. As a parent and have been to almost every ball game I have not heard our kids say that. It was maybe said last year but the administration had talked to all of our students and have advised them not to say that. And if was said it was not said by the students that are currently going to school at Scotts Hill. Former students or even someone that didn't even attend Scotts Hill, I don't know. But, it needs to be given a rest. We stand behind our school. We have the best Students, Teachers, Faculty, and Principal around and if you really knew us, you would know that. Taunting goes on at and in every sport know to man for years. Our girls last night weren't the ones getting mad during the game either. So, what do you call that??

    • 20 but had 5-6 not dressed every game. It went down towards the end due to injuries and obviously only 15 got to dress for the state tournament. Then, they only lost 2 from this year and gain 8 from the middle school for next year
    • As somebody mentioned before, this is going to result in a massive lawsuit, can you imagine professional "educators" actually having the conversation about getting "the bad kids" out of the high school?  And the head coach asking directly to change grades, gets turned down, comes back again and gets it approved?  This is unbelievable.  In addition to the lawsuit, the state Department of Education is going to come down extremely hard on this.  WYSH is on the war path.  There could be dozens more lose their jobs by the time this is over.  And yeah the real shame is the kids being affected that literally had nothing to do with this and actually worked hard to earn their grades.
    • I've heard Powell from someone who talked to him. I saw the kid two days ago and I should of pulled over and talked with him and wished him well where ever he goes. It will be a ale of a loss for us because I don't believe we have anyone in the stable good as him from what I seen in the spring.
    • I would have to think that the firing of the 2 teachers is just the beginning of future moves.  If not, it is woefully short.  If the AC school board thinks that the damage is just limited to Clinton, they are sadly mistaken.  Any outsider would view the whole school system as suspect, and rightly so.
    • Yeah. AC brass walked in to the building at Clinton and suggested that the principal start changing grades.  Honesty, the notion that anybody at AC was involved is just idiocy.  The ones who are hurt most are the kids who weren't involved in the cheating, but still are being penalized by college admission decisions and scholarship consideration simply because they went to a school that was involved in such a scandal.
